I got two calls from this number about a week apart. The person on the line was trying to sell me the Leicester Mercury at some supposed big discount, saying it was a kind of thank you from the paper to loyal readers. They wanted me to sign up for a subscription - monthly, quarterly, yearly, whatever - and pay upfront. Then supposedly they'd send me vouchers I could use at my local paper shop to get the Mercury half price. Right... If it’s a thank you gift, why are they asking for money first? Honestly, avoid this deal like the plague. You’ll just lose your cash and never see any vouchers turn up.

I've had a couple of calls from this number, about a week apart. They push subscription deals, like monthly, quarterly, or yearly. The idea is you pay upfront and then get vouchers to take to your local newsagent to buy the paper at half price. Yeah right! If it was really a thank you, why bother making you pay first? Seriously, steer well clear of this one. You'll just end up out of pocket and no vouchers will ever turn up.
