08452865089 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 08452865089 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance number linked to telesales calls for newspaper and magazine subscriptions, often on behalf of The Times or News International. Callers frequently hang up when unanswered or leave no message, with many recipients hearing background office noise but no direct communication. Calls occur regularly throughout the day, sometimes multiple times daily, and often appear despite Do Not Call registrations. Some users report being misled about how their details were obtained, likely via market research leads. I received a call claiming to be from the Daily Mail or possibly another major newspaper, and they had my entire name! Does anyone have a clue as to who these folks might be?

This number keeps ringing our home, claiming to represent Loos International. But who are they exactly? Has anyone got a clue?

They ring almost daily, and I'm definately not returning calls to any 0845 number. Left me a voicemail once, but no one said a word, just background office sounds. It's really irritating because every time I check my phone after work, there's always a missed call waiting.

Got called by this number twice at about half past three in the afternoon. Every time my answerphone switched on, they just ended the call.

Got a call on my phone around 8 this evening but no one left a message. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Non stop annoying phone calls all day long.

Once I gave them my number, they just wouldn’t quit ringing. It started with calls about The Times and Sunday Times, then moved on to magazines. I’m pretty sure they’ve shared my details with other companies too. Honestly, I’m considering filing a complaint against them.

Aditus follows strict data protection regulations. They gather leads from surveys done online or over the phone. You should only get a call if you participated in a survey and mentioned that you read The Times, or whichever publication the call relates to. Since this is opt-in, it’s allowed under the TPS rules. If you don’t pick up, they’ll probably ring you again. It’s best to answer and say you’re not interested and want your number removed. Aditus don’t want to waste time calling uninterested people - they’re trying to make sales! Your number might be on multiple lists, so asking for it to be blocked will help make sure Aditus won’t take it as a lead from any other source.

This number rings me twice each day, mostly close to 10:30 in the morning and then again about 3:30 in the afternoon. I usually just let it go to answerphone, but my home phone still logs the calls.

My phone showed I got a text but there was nothing there when I checked. Later I saw that this number had tried to ring me. I didn’t bother calling them back.

They ring me incessantly but never bother to leave a voice message. All I get is a cacophony of background chatter, reminiscent of a bustling call centre.

Some time ago, I got a call from this number, but couldn’t really figure out what the person wanted since he called me by my maiden name, which I haven’t used in ages. So right away, I knew it wasn’t something I’d agreed to. The caller was polite though and just said goodbye after I said I wasn’t interested. Now, reading other comments about this number being linked to the Times or a newspaper, I do remember a different guy ringing me before, trying to get me to subscribe to the Times. He clearly had my details from one of those dodgy market research calls, you know, where the caller is ‘Debbie’ or ‘Steven’ and barely speaks English properly… they must’ve passed on my info to the Times telesales team.

I keep getting these pesky cold calls from folks trying to peddle magazine and newspaper subscriptions. It’s time to add yet another number to my ever-growing blocked contacts list!

This number rings me a couple times daily, usually knocking about 10 in the morning and then again near 6 in the evening. I only use my landline for emergencies and internet, so I don’t pick up but I do keep an eye on the caller ID. It’s been going on for maybe three weeks now.

I received a missed call from this number on Saturday morning. Has anyone else had any experience with it? I thought call centres were meant to refrain from contacting us on a Sunday.

Got a call from this number today, 14th March 2019. It was a recorded voice saying something like "Hello, this is Actus or Aditus calling for Times Newspapers. Press 1 to have your number removed." I pressed 1 straight away but then started worrying if that might've cost me anything. Seems like other folks didn’t have that problem though. Cheers, Jimm

They ring every day around 11 or midday, but I did get a call from them at 2 in the morning once. I only answered once and all I could hear was some kind of background noise, no one actually said anything. It's strange because I only shared my mobile number with close friends as far as I remember.

I keep getting these annoying calls, they just won't stop! Such unwanted interruptions.

Someone rang me from that number sayin they were from the Daily Mail or Times newspaper. When I asked where they got my number from, they just sorta waffled and said maybe I’d signed up for a comp or something. Honestly, it sounded like they were just making stuff up on the spot. It’s so frustrating getting calls like this that are just a waste of time.

This number keeps ringing me up but never leaves a voicemail. It’s about time the government cracked down on these annoying calls and started taking legal action.

If it's true that this person works for Aditus representing The Times or Sunday Times, it's really quite shameful. They keep ringing me non-stop but never bother to leave a message. I'm planning to drop an email to the Editors to let them know what's going on. - lotuscat

I've been getting calls from these folks all the time, and I can hear noises like people talking, but no actual voices come through. Maybe Mr Cameron should actually step in and sort this mess out. Just wanted to put in a formal complaint...

Just to clear things up, when I rang this number it connected me to a voicemail that said something like, “Hello, this is Aditus calling on behalf of News International”.

So I’ll say it again: if you’re on the TPS list and get a call from them, make sure you report it to TPS. Their website has an easy form where you can put in the number, the caller’s name and the kind of call you received.

Best of luck with it.

This number just rang me again, like loads of other annoying calls I keep getting. I’ve been on the TPS list for like four years now but it makes no difference. I stopped picking up the phone nearly two years ago because of it. Seriously, shouldn’t the government step in and ban these calls altogether? Most of them show as withheld numbers, or odd ones like 1100000, and often they’re claiming to be from insurance companies or even Swinton about mortgages - and I don’t even have one! BT can block these, but they want to charge for it - why on earth? Maurean Reid

Being part of a deaf family means we never pick up calls on our landline. No one we know ever calls that number. It’s quite unsettling to notice the same number popping up daily on our caller ID. We figured someone might not realise we can’t hear and are trying to reach us urgently. The last time this happened, it was important - a hospital called about my stool sample that tested positive for salmonella. We’re registered with TPS, so could you please block this number 08452865089? Thanks a lot.

I’m on the do not call list, so why am I still getting calls at twenty past eight in the evening, only to have them hang up on me and leave me the bill if I ring back? These silent calls shouldn’t be allowed.

I have no intention of handing over any cash to the Murdoch empire. Honestly, I wish they’d just slink back under whatever dodgy rock they came from and stop bothering everyone else.

I picked up a call from this number but the person on the other end just hung up straight away. So I rang back and got this automated message saying it was Atlas calling for News International. The message then offered choices to stop any more calls, but I didn’t bother doing anything with it.
