Received a call just now, but it seems they were courteous enough not to leave a message. Quite odd, really!

We use number ID so any calls from numbers starting with 0845, 0800 and the like just don’t get answered. Our answerphone has a pretty blunt message that’s actually got quite a few laughs from friends who’ve heard it while ringing when we’re not home - I’ve even passed the text to a few of them to use themselves. Here’s what I say if you want to have a go with it... If this call is for someone personal, feel free to leave a message. But if you’re stuck in some cramped call centre reading a script, or a scammer or survey caller, do us all a favour and buzz off. If that’s you, then you’re just a pointless, annoying, anti-social, freeloading pest. We only answer numbers on our caller display that we know and trust. Got a call about a free pension review, but it turned out to be a total scam. My phone showed “SECURITY ALERT” and I strongly recommend blocking this number ASAP. Don’t fall for it!
