After seeing all the comments here, I’d say just block the number if it’s ringing on your mobile, like I did. You can open your phone and check the recent calls list. Tap the little icon that shows more details about the call. If you’re using an iPhone, just scroll down till you find the option to block the caller. On Android, sometimes you have to save the number in your contacts first before you’re able to block it. It’s a bit fiddly but worth it to stop the nuisance calls.

This number has rung me up twice already this week. It’s so frustrating, especially when you’re behind the wheel and can’t use Bluetooth. I’ve been getting blasted with these calls all day, like seriously annoying. Just today, three came through in less than an hour. What’s weird is it doesn’t seem like it’s just one company ringing me, but a few different ones. The only thing that’s the same is their accents - all sound Indian to me. I know it might sound a bit dodgy to even say that, but it’s pretty clear to my ear, so I’m guessing those call centres are based in India. Back in November 2012, I got a TrueCall for my mum, and since then it’s stopped about 615 calls from coming through. At the moment, she’s blocking around 80 calls each month.

Hey, just got a message saying I've won $250,000 USD from a FaceBook INC annual draw. Apparently, it’s their way of thanking users who regularly use FaceBook to stay in touch with friends and family. They told me my email was picked randomly by some advanced computer system scanning the web and FaceBook emails. Bit surprising to get something like this out of the blue!

If you get a call like that, don’t just hang up straight away. Pick up but don’t say anything or press any buttons. They’ll probably hang up after a bit, but it’s annoying for them and can cost them money. Just keep doing that every time they call - it works pretty well!

I get about 15 to 20 calls every single day on both my landline and mobile from them. It got so bad that I had to change my mobile number because they were ringing me on both phones at exactly the same time! I work for an animal charity, so I use my phone pretty much all the time, and it’s so frustrating having to stop what I’m doing, especially at meal times, just to deal with these annoying calls. Yeah, pressing 5 does end up costing you some money, probably around 20-30p maybe? Not totally sure on the exact amount. For me though, it was worth it cause my phone’s barely rung since. I guess it really comes down to how desperate you are to stop the calls. Personally, I’d had enough and needed a break.

I kept getting calls from this number, sometimes a few times a day for several weeks, and eventually I just had enough. Here’s what I did next... I managed to get an operator on the line and pretended to be really interested in stuff like PPI claims. The woman on the phone was friendly and tried to explain things, so I played along like I thought I might have a claim. She then started asking for my details, so I just made up a random name and address - probably didn’t even exist. After that, she gave me a reference number and her name. From what I’ve heard, if you give this reference number, along with the time and date of the call, to your phone company, they can track down the caller and block their number for you. So a quick call like this could actually work in your favour and waste their time too - no profit for them then, haha!
