I got a call from some cheeky Welsh lad trying to sell me "legal services." I asked what exactly he was offering and he just went quiet and ended the call. Definitely sounds like one of those dodgy scams to me.

usually, i just ignore calls from numbers i don't recognise. but this time i answered, and honestly, the people on the other end were fantastic. i had no idea i was actually owed some money. they sorted it out and i got my payment within about a month or so. really friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. i’d definitely tell anyone who needs assistance to give them a go.

I received an unsolicited call, and they were using my wife's first name but had no clue about her surname. It seems someone has linked her email address, which just has her first name, to our home phone number. The only places she shared that info were with car insurance firms, leading me to suspect that somewhere along the line, someone hasn't quite adhered to the Data Protection regulations as they ought to have.

Last spring, I had a rather unpleasant encounter when someone collided with me, and ever since, I’ve been inundated with calls from these dodgy characters urging me to make a compensation claim. Despite my repeated insistence that there’s absolutely no claim to be had, they just won’t take 'no' for an answer. I received yet another call earlier today from a chap named ‘Peter’ who had quite a strong Indian accent. I kept trying to explain that the line was terrible and he needed to speak louder, but he simply hung up. I can only imagine he went on to pester the next poor soul on their list. Ridiculous!

Received a rather dodgy call earlier purporting to be from something called the Legal Helpline. They claimed they were reaching out to assist with stopping the barrage of nuisance calls I’ve been inundated with regarding a so-called car accident. Apparently, they were involved in sorting the claims’ paperwork for various insurance firms. However, I’m well aware from my own insurer that they’re not involved in such activities. They even mentioned a registered office at Tower Park in Didsbury, M21 7SL, but unsurprisingly, I couldn’t find any trace of it online. Quite a fishy operation, if you ask me!

Honestly, I can't really fault this firm for the calls since they're just working off the info they're given. The real problem lies with the insurance firms that share your details around. I was in a crash recently and actually used their service to get some cash back, but now I'm bombarded by loads of other companies who somehow got hold of my data. I reckon it's best to stay friendly with them because, at the end of the day, they're just doing their job and not being nasty on purpose. None of us are perfect, so let's keep it real.

I keep receiving calls from these persistent folk wanting to discuss an accident my wife supposedly had over two years ago, which is news to us! I received a call today from someone who clearly struggled with their English, which was rather unfortunate! They claimed to know I’d been in an accident recently. I couldn’t help but wonder, if you’re aware of this supposed incident, why on earth are you inquiring about it? I assured them I hadn’t experienced any such mishap, and then I abruptly hung up. Quite an irritating encounter, really!

If they say there’s been an accident, quiz them on when and where it happened, plus which insurance company is involved. Their tale usually doesn't add up. You can also request the address of their official office and the name of the managing director for legal action. Usually, they’ll drop the call once they see you’re not falling for their tricks!

I recently received a call from this number, which apparently originates from the infamous Moss Side in Manchester. They were prying into some recent incident and didn’t seem too cheery, to put it mildly. Honestly, these callers aren’t the brightest and don’t take kindly to being challenged. Whenever they ring, I always request their full name, address and phone number. When they ask why, I just say it’s for some legal paperwork involving county and high court stuff. That’s usually when they get quiet and hang up straight away. Got a call from 08452861906 today. A bloke named Kevin asked for me, saying he was ringing on behalf of HE Solutions about loads of calls about a ‘car incident’. Thing is, I’ve not had any calls about that on this number, just my mobile. Plus, I haven’t had any car trouble in over a year and a half. So, I just hung up. If they call again, I’m telling them to stop or I’ll report them for harassment. On top of that, I’ll be charging £10 per call plus a fee for each minute talking, invoiced monthly. If they don’t pay, I’ll take ’em to small claims court!
