During our travels across the States, we had quite the experience with a peculiar phone call. It was as if someone was on the other end but not uttering a word. Honestly, these folks must think they're quite clever with their antics to make a sale! Quite amusing, really, like a troupe of jesters.

It’s quite baffling how these firms blatantly disregard the Telephone Preference Service, especially when I've personally registered with them. It seems to be a trifecta of annoyance: either these pesky telemarketers are contravening the regulations (if there are any to begin with), or they simply don’t give a toss about the TPS or the law itself. Honestly, the TPS feels like a toothless tiger in this situation, utterly ineffectual!

I just let a call from this number slip by, so I decided to return the call. Turns out they were on about something to do with road traffic. When I called back using our landline instead of my mobile, they assured me they’d remove my number within a day. I can't shake the feeling that now they’ve got our landline, we’re bound to hear from these numpties again. The odds are definitely stacked against us!
