Just past midday, I received a phone call from someone asking if I'd be willing to partake in a survey purportedly on behalf of the Council, carried out by either JLA or JLC Research. It struck me as quite suspicious, as it seemed they were leveraging the Council's name to lend themselves some sort of legitimacy. We're registered with the Telephone Preference Service, our number is ex-directory, and we never share it with anyone. So it's utterly baffling how they got hold of it. I insisted that the caller remove our details from their records, and I sincerely hope they do. If they don't, I shall certainly be reporting them to the TPS.

In the short span of three weeks, I've received four calls on this number, which initially belonged to our mobile phone meant solely for emergency situations. The sole entity privy to this number is Lloyds TSB, even after we made it abundantly clear that it was reserved for urgent calls only! Does this ring a bell for anyone, or is this merely a coincidence? Our strategy involves answering the call, setting the phone aside for about half an hour while they ramble on, and then hanging up. This little tactic should ensure we don't incur any charges on our mobile bill, as that’s precisely what we intend to do!

Those rotters rang us up, and an Asian lady asked for our details while we were inquiring about a loan. We responded by saying, “We’re in need of a loan as much as we fancy a pair of detonating knickers!” At that, she hung up on me. Ha! What a triumph!

Upon visiting their website, we were unable to locate any option to put an end to the incessant calls. This company has been incessantly calling us multiple times, yet we never answer 0845 numbers, save for messages from BT. The moment our answering machine activates, they promptly hang up, which is incredibly frustrating! We ensured no errors were made with the email address; we carefully cut and pasted it and verified it on both the outgoing message and the bounce-back notification.

They’ve been phoning from a withheld number. However, earlier today, we managed to catch them on a number that wasn’t concealed, and interestingly enough, no blank messages were left this time.
