He tried to convince her he could slash her bills and then cheekily asked for her card details. Luckily, she has no bank card, so he lost interest and just told her to ring back on 08452410885. She did ring, ended up speaking to a very polite lady who was quite shocked he’d asked for such info, and promised to take mum's details off their list. What a load of scoundrels! They give the impression they’re calling on behalf of Sky TV, but really they’re trying to sell you insurance for Sky gear - even if you already have cover or don’t want it. Their goal seems to be to get your bank info so they can set up a direct debit and take control. The people in the call centre aren't very friendly; they get pretty rude if you question them. Loads of folks online, especially older people, say they've lost money after thinking Sat Assist was Sky TV. After having a word with the FCA, I found out this company isn’t even on the Financial Services Register, meaning they’re not legally allowed to sell insurance here.
