I received a call from this number, but all I got was a recorded message before they hung up. The caller ID showed the number, so I did a bit of digging online before attempting to ring them back. What I found out about the charges associated with 0845 numbers was rather alarming. It seems rather sketchy, leading me to the conclusion that it could be some sort of scam. Therefore, I've decided against returning the call, as it could potentially end up costing me more than a standard phone call, with the possibility of them pocketing the extra. And to be honest, I have no intention of paying to chat with strangers, especially if there's any hint of dubiousness!

Earlier today, precisely at 5:57 PM, we experienced the same thing. Our son answered the call, and the caller enquired for the homeowner. However, as soon as we took over the call and asked, “How can we assist you?”, the line abruptly dropped.
