I've received the same blimmin' call countless times over the last month or two. "SMA Business Club, I'll give it another go later." It's exceedingly bothersome, especially since we run a small establishment from home, and with being on the phone so often, these interruptions really hit our pockets. We're not convinced this is a legitimate operation (can’t find them on Google?), leading us to suspect it might be a scam of some sort. Stay safe out there!

I've been receiving calls from these folks for the last few days, and it's been quite a barrage lately. They even caught us at one point and asked if we’d be interested in participating in a survey. We explained that our schedule was rather packed, which they seemed to understand, but they mentioned they would ring back. Since then, there have been another three calls that I've chosen to ignore. I did consider tracking down their website to request the removal of my number from their list, but I’m wary that it might lead to an avalanche of emails instead!

As a business that has signed up for TPS, I've received three calls today, which is rather frustrating. Upon returning one of those calls, I spoke to a Geordie lady who bluntly said, “If you don’t wish to be contacted again, kindly provide your name and number.” It's hard to believe they even have that information to begin with! It's quite astonishing when you consider the cost implications of these unwanted calls.

They claimed to represent the SME Business Club and mentioned that they wanted to carry out a survey regarding the utilities I utilise for my business!

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is effective only if the businesses reaching out actually subscribe to it. Legitimate companies will certainly adhere to these guidelines and remove your details from their lists, but the bothersome ones seem to ignore such regulations altogether, leaving you still vulnerable to their calls. What we really need is a solution that ensures our numbers are wiped from all telemarketing directories. Despite being ex-directory, I still find myself bombarded with these nuisance calls!

This morning, we received a call from this number at our office. The caller, who seemed to have a distinctive Newcastle accent, left a message saying, "You were contacted earlier today by the SMA Business Club, and I'll try calling again soon." It's quite puzzling, as I can’t seem to find any information about them on the web.
