It showed up as a premium line, so I just ignored the call.

Received a robotic call pressuring me to verify my phone number. I hung up immediately and subsequently added this number to my block list.

Just report the number to 7726 (its not a police number) and then block it. Also, maybe drop an email to your MP asking why we’re getting so many scam calls. Why can’t we report scams straight to the police through the ‘action fraud’ site anymore? And why hasn’t the phone industry put in Caller ID Authentication tech to cut down on these calls? Scam texts can also be sent to 7726, and for scam emails or screenshots of scam texts, email them to the police at ‘[email protected]’ so they can look into it.
