avoid calling back, they charge you for it - it’s a rip off. every time they ring, it’s a new 0845 number to trick you out of cash.

I got a call from this number but missed it, so I decided to ring back. As soon as I did, some robotic voice came on saying my number was verified while reading it out loud, then it just hung up. Feels dodgy to me, maybe a scam, but I’m not sure how dangerous it actually is. Has anyone else had this happen? What was the deal with it? Would be good to know if it’s serious or just a nuisance.
