They called me a couple of times and even left voicemails, which I thought was a bit reassuring. To be sure, I got in touch with my energy provider, Utility Warehouse, to check if the calls were legit. After a quick call back from Utility Warehouse, they confirmed that Lowri Beck is indeed one of their reps. So, I’m planning to give Lowri Beck a ring soon to set up a time to get my meter switched.

Just got a call from these people saying they need to swap out my meter. Thing is, the number they want me to ring back on isn’t free, which seems dodgy. Plus, I live in a newly built place and my meter’s only about a year old anyway! Not convinced this is legit at all.

Yeah, it's Lowri Beck alright. They do work alongside Npower and Utility Warehouse. They also post letters out. Most likely, they are coming to swap your meter since Lowri Beck handles that job. The reason for the call is your meter’s contract is about to run out and it’s got to be replaced. Not trying to freak you out, but it’s actually a legal requirement. That's why there’s no charge for it.
