We've received multiple calls from both 044... and 0845... which has raised some eyebrows. Fortunately, we stumbled upon this website prior to taking any steps.

It’s undoubtedly British Gas. We managed to chat with someone who confirmed that these folks have our number, albeit just one digit off from the actual customer they were trying to reach. They assured us they’d removed it from their system, yet the calls keep coming. We’ve given them a solid 14 weeks to sort themselves out, or we’ll be looking into claiming compensation for this hassle.

Curious indeed! We've received numerous calls from British Gas, and it seems they've been relentless. A robotic voice has persistently urged either myself or my wife to get in touch with a specific number. I'm not inclined to respond, especially given the suspicion that this might be a scam. I'm quite baffled as to how these individuals are privy to our information. Remarkably, this inconvenience occurred four times in a single day, and it was only on the last call that they decided to leave a recorded message. What a palaver!

I’ve discovered that this was a number linked to British Gas for debt recovery. If you ring them back, you can ask about the reason for their call. They’ll likely check their records and remove your number from their system if it turns out you’re not the person they’re after!

I've got a bit of a situation with British Gas. I had a rather insistent automated system urging either me or my missus to give them a bell. I'm not inclined to do so, especially when it feels like a bit of a scam. How on earth are they getting hold of our details? I've been hounded four times in a single day, and it was only on the fourth attempt that they decided to leave a recorded message. Quite the nuisance, I must say!

What a load of rubbish! We’re employed by British Gas, and I can assure you, this number is dodgy. It seems someone has been posing as us to swipe customers’ card details, all while pretending to sort out payments or settle accounts with BG. They've even been cloning cards-how outrageous! I’m currently dealing with the fallout myself, and it seems over a hundred others have fallen victim to this too. Please, stay vigilant and avoid engaging with them at all costs!

I received a call on Friday.

Just a quick update: the message I received was asking about an amount of £76.57, and my associate has now confirmed that I actually do owe that figure. He settled it with a cheque just the other day. This leads me to believe that the call could have been a legitimate one from British Gas. If that’s the case, we’ll certainly reconsider our relationship with them moving forward. However, I can’t shake the feeling that all these billing agencies might start adopting similar tactics. Frankly, we believe it’s a significant security hazard and would advise anyone never to share their credit card details through a recorded line like this.

This afternoon we received a peculiar call, so naturally, we turned to this website for some clarity. What we're struggling to comprehend is why, given that these individuals have been on the scene since April, they haven't been shut down or had their service terminated yet (as mentioned in the first comment). It seems quite likely that the number they're using isn't actually their own. We're starting to think that the calls might be coming from overseas through some sort of automated system.

It seems like the responsibility of Great Britain's gas collection service is to give you a ring back upon your request. Just a heads up, these folks are likely keeping an eye on things and may well erase your number from their records if the person they’re trying to reach isn’t at the number you provided.
