08450568034 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 08450568034 👆 is reported as a frequently appearing number linked to emergency alarm monitoring services, often used by elderly individuals wearing pendant fall alerts. Many users, particularly elderly or those caring for them, notice unexpected call charges appearing on their bills due to these alarms automatically contacting a call centre for assistance. Attempts to block or stop the calls are complicated, as the calls are triggered by the alarm system rather than deliberate dialing, and the charges can occur even when the call is answered but no conversation takes place. Users advise confirming if an emergency alarm is fitted, as these calls, though potentially costly, serve a vital safety function. It's recommended to check with your service provider or alarm company for clarity and to discuss cost concerns.

Every month, this number shows up on my bill charging me three times, each time for about 22 seconds. I have no idea where these calls are coming from. I got in touch with my phone company, TalkTalk, but they said they’re unable to block this number. I can’t block it on my handset either since it looks like an outgoing call. It seems to be linked with Vodafone’s network. Does anyone know if there’s a way to stop these annoying charges?

Got a call from 08450568034, some bloke claiming to sort out your wifi. Didn’t sound right at all, just ended the call. Definitely seemed like a dodgy scam, probably another dodgy Indian caller trying his luck. Be warned!

My elderly mother-in-law, who's 90, has just received a bill for £17 for a call that lasted nearly two hours! She only activated her neck alarm once because she was in need of assistance. I'm baffled as to why she’s facing such hefty charges for that. What on earth is going on?

Over the past year, I kept noticing calls to this number on my phone bill but I didn't remember making any of them. I’m 68 and saw loads of people talking about how this might affect older folks, which made me think. When I spoke to my landline provider, TalkTalk, about what seemed like a dodgy call, they asked me if I had some sort of alarm system at home. That’s when it clicked - I have an emergency pendant alarm that calls a centre to get help if I press the button, like an ambulance. They say you should test it every month. Since I’m just pushing a button and not dialling, I’d forgotten that it actually makes a call which shows up on the phone bill. Then I checked the sticker on the alarm’s base unit and saw that their contact number was almost the same as the one on my bill - just one digit different, ending in a 5 instead of a 4. I gave them a ring and they confirmed all the calls from my alarm base unit to the number 08450568034 over the past year. So the mystery was solved! One thing to mention is that sometimes the pendant can get triggered by accident, like when wearing it to bed, which happened to me once. But the phone bill charges for these false alarms or for use by people who might get confused are quite minor. I reckon it’d be a bad idea to stop an elderly relative from using their alarm too much - if they really need help and don’t have it on them, it defeats the whole purpose. Hopefully, sharing this will ease worries for others in the same boat.

It seems my elderly mother has received four missed calls from this number. After further investigation, I've discovered that charges kick in as soon as someone answers. This looks like a blatant scam aimed at older folks, and I’m determined to put an end to it.

This phone number seems linked to fall detection alarms, usually part of a “feline” style pendant or bracelet worn for safety. On my mum’s phone bill, there are two numbers - 08450568034 and 08450568035 - that keep showing up. Our local social care team is already looking into these charges, which first popped up in early 2020.

My elderly mother, who is now 90 years young, has received a staggering 12 service charge bills linked to this number as well as 08450568035. One has racked up a charge of 53p, whilst the other has added 26p to her bill.

Despite having Call Guardian set up-which is meant to intercept unwanted calls and respond with a firm “go away”-the mere fact that the calls are answered still results in charges.

I've already contacted the phone provider to gather information regarding the total number of calls, when they began, and the cumulative cost from both numbers. Once I have all the necessary details, I'll be reaching out to Action Fraud to lodge a formal complaint.

My elderly and confused aunt has managed to call this number, 084505668034, a staggering 29 times over the past six weeks. It's listed as a "service number," but I’m left scratching my head at who they actually are. Has anyone got any insight on this?

My 90 year old mum has been dealing with the same issue, getting calls at all sorts of times, but it looks like she might’ve triggered her Fall Alert by mistake. I rang the company’s main line from a landline and they told me that the monitors come from 0845 0568034. Sadly, since it’s the weekend, I won’t be able to sort anything until they’re back in the office - their hours are 08:30 to 17:00 Monday through Friday.

I was looking for a service that could monitor if someone has a fall. Something like alarm monitoring just in case they need help. Does anyone know a reliable company that offers this kind of fall detection support? It’s important for elderly people living alone.

We noticed a few small charges on our bill from the number 08450568034, ranging between £0.15 and £0.30 each time. It showed up multiple times, which was a bit odd.

I was perusing my mum's phone statement and found it rather peculiar - she appears to have dialled a certain number an astonishing fifteen times over the course of three weeks! Each call seems to rack up a rather hefty charge of 53p. I'm completely baffled by this and can’t quite fathom how long this little saga has been unfolding. Quite a few of these calls were made in the wee hours, so it’s evidently not her doing. How on earth can I put an end to this situation?

It appears that on the billing statement, it suggests that a call was made to that number. Yet, after doing a bit of digging and reading other people's experiences, I’ve noticed a similar pattern: the phone rings, someone answers, and then utter silence follows. Meanwhile, the unfortunate soul gets charged for the privilege! This shed some light on how my elderly mother-in-law has ended up with an extra £15 added to her phone bill. She’s definitely not the one placing all these calls, especially since most of them occurred during the wee hours!

My mum-in-law got hit with an extra £15 on her phone bill, and when I checked it, it showed the number had been dialled from her line. But after reading some other reviews, I discovered a common thing happens - the phone rings, someone answers but no one speaks, then the call ends. Despite that silent call, the charge still shows up! So no, my mum-in-law definitely didn’t make all those calls, especially with most of them happening late at night when she was asleep.

My elderly mother, who suffers from dementia, keeps ringing this number quite often. I'm at a bit of a loss trying to discover who’s behind it.

I've been inundated with calls from this number lately, and it's really quite frustrating. Whenever I pick up, they just hang up without saying a word. To make matters worse, my phone bill that arrived today reveals that I've apparently been the one calling them, racking up a total charge of 19p. In just a week, it's added up to £3.56! What a nuisance!

Could someone shed light on whose number this might be? My dad has been trying to get in touch with it numerous times but hasn’t got a clue about the owner.
