I've received a rather dubious call urging me to renew an insurance policy that I don’t even possess. The reality is, my current insurance is with a different provider who took care of my boiler earlier this year. Definitely sounds a bit fishy to me!

I had a rather unsettling phone call from 0845 0531729, purporting to be from something called the Boiler Protection Network. The woman on the line introduced herself as Eva. She was pressing me to renew my boiler insurance and claimed I was eligible for a discount since I hadn’t needed to contact them over the past year. Strangely, they had my bank account number and mentioned a direct debit arrangement I’ve never set up. I made it clear to them that their information was utterly pointless as my boiler is fairly new and still under warranty. A quick check of my bank details confirmed there was indeed no direct debit linked to them whatsoever. Please be cautious folks; it appears the so-called Boiler Protection Network might just be a bunch of scammers!

Received a call from someone claiming to offer boiler insurance and they requested £150. Could this possibly be a scam?
