Back in 1997, this number kept ringing me nonstop. The woman on the other end was so rude and homophobic; she was actually looking for my ex who’d already left. She wouldn’t even talk to me properly, just kept pressuring me to say where he was. I didn’t have any new details she didn’t know about, yet she carried on calling at all hours, day and night. I’ve never spoken up before, but now I want her tracked down and held accountable for her hateful behaviour.

Indeed, it’s those persistent salespeople from ALYFACTS rifling through their customer database, trying to sell you something you’ve absolutely no interest in. The moment I get another unwelcome call, I’ll be shutting down our account, and the next banking institution won’t have our contact number either. Best to ignore them and just place the phone down - perhaps then they’ll grasp that nobody's paying heed to their nonsense, wasting their own resources rather than ours. It’s a perfect example of what I like to term “customer defiance” against these twits. Just like the ones featured in those Nationwide TV campaigns!

She claimed to be an agent from Halifax, but we never quite caught the name of her company despite asking for it multiple times. The woman spoke at lightning speed, making it hard to keep up. During the conversation, she asked for our date of birth, job, information about our children, and even if we had any hobbies. At that point, we decided to hang up. It all felt quite dodgy, though we might be mistaken.

This number just called us claiming to be from "First Assist representing Halifax" and then had the audacity to ask us to confirm our date of birth. We flatly refused, as we don’t give out personal details to unsolicited callers, especially when we can’t even be sure who they are. I'm planning to reach out to Halifax to alert them that someone appears to be fishing for private information from their clients. If this was a legitimate call, then it seems the bank ought to seriously reconsider their security protocols.
