I've been receiving texts like this one: "Hello Ruth, we're unable to assist you in settling your debts and getting back on track: a) please call 0845 017 3265 now to opt out, reply with 1BWFM!" The number sending these is +447797802072. It seems to be some sort of pay-as-you-go scam, which appears to potentially involve dodgy offers. I'm really not amused; this started a fortnight ago. Thankfully, they don’t come through too frequently yet; however, it’s quite alarming that they somehow have my name.

I've been inundated with text messages that go along the lines of: "Hello Ruth! We can assist you in settling your debts and getting you back on track! 😊 Call 0845 017 3265 immediately! /2REMOVE REPLY 1BWFM." The number belongs to +447797802072. We're on a pay-as-you-go plan with Orange, and it seems these folks are just tossing this info around without a care. I'm not overly pleased about it; these messages started appearing roughly a fortnight ago. Thankfully, they aren’t flooding in yet, but it’s rather unsettling to see my first name used like that.
