One of the smartest tips I came across here was to simply not answer calls from numbers you don’t know. It’s been a bit tricky for me, since we're brought up thinking you should always pick up when the phone rings - it’s almost like it’s rude not to! But these days, I just let it ring unless I’m expecting someone. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail or send me an email anyway. Much less hassle that way.
