I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with Experian - an Indian woman with a pronounced accent. She was quizzing me about my business, specifically regarding a trade account I hold with a clothing firm called Religion. I firmly stated that I had no affiliation with that and promptly ended the conversation.

I received a call today from this number, with the caller purporting to be from Experian Ltd, attempting to extract some company details. They were rather insistent and wouldn’t let me off the hook easily…

I received a rather dodgy phone call earlier claiming to be from Experian, suggesting that a supplier needed some info regarding my business. When I asked which supplier was looking for these details, they couldn't offer a name. The line was atrocious quality, and the chap had a noticeable foreign accent-now, I don't usually read too much into accents, but with everything else going on, it raised a few eyebrows! I thanked them courteously for their time and promptly ended the call.

Despite my explanations, the calls persist. It might be that a shady outfit is peddling inaccurate or misleading contact information, banking on the fact that they won't be held accountable. Alternatively, it could just be an innocent mix-up.
