Southern Monitoring Alarm - for everyone moaning about getting calls and giving them grief, it's not really their fault if they've been passed an old number and the keyholder hasn't told them about the change. Cancelled mobile numbers usually get reused after about six months. This ain't a scam, some people just overreact way too much.

Got a call from this number at like 2:26 in the morning, totally woke everyone in the house. The woman on the other end was going on about stuff I had no clue about, so I just ended the call. Sometimes they ring to let you know an alarm triggered but actually someone else might have given your number by mistake, maybe they’ve moved or just put the wrong digits down. It could also be your workplace sharing your contact, or maybe a family member listed you as an emergency contact. If you don’t have any alarm system, don’t worry, just stay calm and ask them to take your number off their list.

Total scam! They rang me and my bloke, same lady’s voice on both calls. When I checked the voicemail, it was the exact same message about some flat in Brackley, which we had to look up because we’d never even heard of the place before.

Southern Monitoring called the emergency contact about an alarm triggering. My elderly parent, some kind of kitchen mishap, plus two ambulances incoming. I wasn’t even aware I was listed as a contact, couldn’t get hold of him on either his phone or mobile, nor the neighbours next door. All good, though - everything fine in the end.

Got called three times back to back from this number. Normally, I don't pick up if I don't recognise the number, but this kept ringing non-stop so I got a bit concerned.

Got a call not once, but twice, one at 4am and then again at about 4.45am. They called me by the wrong name and started talking about some alarm going off at two random places. Total nonsense. Seems like they pick these awful hours on purpose to catch you when you’re half asleep and unlikely to remember who they are. Not sure what they wanted exactly, but it's obvious spam. My advice? Don’t pick up. And if you do, ask straight away who they are and what company they're with. If it sounds dodgy, just hang up and turn your phone on silent. It’s completely unfair - I’m a mum to five little ones and battling cancer, the last thing I needed was to be woken up like that. Honestly, who makes these calls? Such horrible people to disturb folks like this.

They’ve rung me 9 times in just 3 days, with at least three different people speaking. I blocked the number after the 2nd time but the voicemails keep coming. After the 4th message, they said they wouldn’t call again, yet I got even more today, and more often. Sounds like they might have the wrong person coz they kept mentioning a name that’s not mine.
