I was trying to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel on Abingdon Road, Oxford, postcode OX1 4PS, and dialled 08448542910, the number they had listed on their site. The first time I rang, I just got an automated system with no person to talk to, so I had to call again. Then last month, I noticed a strange 1.38 GBP plus VAT charge on my mobile bill! It's ridiculous - charging customers just to attempt a booking? It honestly seems like the hotel might be struggling if they're doing this. Checking Google and Tripadvisor, loads of people are calling this number a SCAM. Definitely avoid calling that place!

On the 27th of July, this number called me three times. I just looked at my phone bill and noticed they charged me £2.69 plus VAT for those calls. I have no clue who they are or what they wanted. Pretty sure it's just another scam attempt!

I just noticed over £4 tacked onto my phone bill from a call to this number on Sunday the 8th of May, lasting nearly 15 minutes. Honestly, I’m sure I didn’t make that call at all.
