I’ve just noticed that two direct debits have been deducted from my account! I’ve no clue who these individuals are or why they’ve taken my money. I reached out to them, and their response was utterly baffling - they claimed that by simply providing our card details, these folks can perform checks. I mean, seriously?! They were also unable to use the reference numbers or the address we gave them. What a palaver!

We received a call from this number, claiming that we had requested credit card and identity protection with Barclays back on 9th March 2009. The truth is, we never made such a request. The caller then went on to read out our name and address, and insisted on telling us when we had to cancel this so-called protection. It was all rather dodgy!

I’ve just noticed two direct debits have been taken from my account! These folks gave us a contact number, but surprise, surprise, no one’s picking up! Not that we were really holding our breath. Anyway, we managed to cancel the direct debits, but the bank has assured us they’ll look into the matter to recover our funds. Still, we’re after justice here! How could they think this was acceptable? We’ve got a name to go on: Mr Mark Brogdben from Homecare Insurance, Holgate Park on Poppleton Road in York.

Received a call on my mobile from some folks claiming to be associated with eBay. Lo and behold, the following day, £89.99 was snatched straight from our account via a direct debit! Quite shocking, to say the least!

I gave them a ring, and they mentioned that if I provide my card details, they can look into it. Seriously? They couldn't use the documentation I sent or even my address to verify anything. It's all rather baffling!
