Received a couple of emails claiming I’d get a refund if I rang this number... Weird thing is, the amounts they mentioned didn’t match at all. From what I’ve seen, O2 is probably the worst when it comes to protecting your info - chances are scammers get hold of your details and contacts easily.

I received an email from O2 regarding a refund they supposedly owed me, accompanied by a prompt to ring this particular number. Initially, I didn’t suspect foul play, given that we had inadvertently overpaid upon terminating our account with them. However, when I dialled the number, it informed me that the number wasn’t valid, followed by an alarming message indicating it was a premium rate line. I swiftly ended the call and decided it’s probably best to just write off the overpayment!

I got this email saying I was owed a refund from my old 02 account which I'd shut down about a month ago.
