I’m trying to settle the bill for our Barclaycard, but I keep getting sent to this number. Not quite sure if it’s legitimate or just a scam!

We're completely baffled as to why this number has shown up on our landline bill. We suspect it might be a scam, so could you please look into it for us? We’d really appreciate your assistance. Thank you ever so much!

Earlier today, I received a message that read: ‘Notification from Barclaycard: You’re able to alter your PIN at any cash machine. If you’ve forgotten your PIN, please call 08448119111.’ The problem is, we’ve exclusively banked with NatWest, so I’m led to believe this might be some sort of scam.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Barclaycard Visa. Quite suspicious, I must say!

This number is shared by the customer support team at Barclaycard, specifically for inquiries related to the Goldfish Card. (Details accurate as of 22nd November 2012 at 11:32:11).

We've received the exact same text message regarding our account being overdue-not once, but twice! They came a week apart, and it really has us questioning whether there's any truth to it. I can't quite figure out what these folks are hoping to achieve by using Barclaycard's details, but rest assured, we're definitely not going to call them.

I recently received a text from 08448119111 on my mobile. It stated: "Message from Barclaycard: You can alter your PIN at any cash machine. If you've forgotten your PIN, please call 08448119111." Quite peculiar, really! We had only obtained a Barclaycard a few weeks back, but I promptly cut the card up as soon as it arrived, and it's now just sitting unused on my desk, with only a balance transfer associated with it.

Received a call from this number, claiming to be from Barclaycard. The line was engaged for a mere two seconds after the call ended. Interesting that this number corresponds with the one on the back of our credit card. I'll certainly keep an eye on the upcoming phone bill!

Anyone know who the owner of this number might be?

That was a bit peculiar because it was the customer service number for Barclaycard, and we do indeed hold a Barclaycard. However, we can't fathom why they would be ringing us up. We're quite hesitant to pick up, as we certainly don't want to incur any hefty charges!

We recently received a call from this number, during which the caller claimed to be from Barclays and asked for our date of birth and some personal information regarding data protection. We hung up immediately. What should we do next? Any advice would be appreciated!

It turns out this number belongs to Barclaycard. Quite authentic, to be fair. However, it’s unfortunate that we can’t dismiss the possibility that they might be employing this for some sort of marketing strategy.

Received a letter from Barclaycard today, along with a new PIN! The thing is, I've never had a Barclaycard. A couple of weeks back, I noticed some strange transactions popping up, and now I'm feeling quite uneasy-could I be falling prey to an identity scam? Just to be safe, I had my credit score checked, and thankfully, it came back fine. Still, something feels off about the whole situation. It definitely seems like there’s a ruse afoot!

Received a call at my workplace and then one at home. Oddly enough, the home phone display changed to 'line in use' without anyone actually answering it. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

We noticed this number appeared on our statement, yet we've never actually dialled it. We’re rather suspicious that these individuals might have reached out to us somehow and are now billing us for it!

I've noticed on our phone bill that I've apparently dialled this number seven times over the span of just twenty seconds on a single day, and I can't say I have a clue as to who it might belong! Quite frankly, we're not thrilled with this situation. Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance on what we should do next? Appreciate any help! Cheers!

Feeling rather dubious, we decided to have a look on the official Barclaycard website. It turns out that the number for their round-the-clock customer service, as well as for reporting lost or stolen cards, is 0844 811 9111.

I've had several missed calls on my landline from this number - the latest was around 4 in the afternoon the other day, and again today at 12:57. We’ve just registered for a Barclaycard, but haven’t yet activated it. Oddly enough, the texts I've received since acquiring the new card are from 'MBNA', with the same number, pushing offers of 0% on purchases, although the dates mentioned are all wrong! Quite puzzling, really!

We've received calls from this number as well. The first time, we answered, but there was no one on the other end. Following that, the same number tried to call us on a couple of occasions, but we decided not to respond. Just strange, really!

We just got a text saying that our most recent transaction on our Barclaycard has been turned down, and it suggests giving a bell on 084481191 to sort out a payment. The thing is, we only have an account with NatWest! This has got to be a scam!

Our Tesco landline bill shows that we called some Multimedia Service number at 7:44 PM on the 21st of April, and the call lasted for an astonishing eleven minutes. The strange thing is, we haven't a clue what that number is, and we strongly suspect that we received an annoying nuisance call around the same time, leading us to hang up in under ten seconds! Yet, for some reason, I've been slapped with a charge of 52 pence for that brief encounter!

We recently received a call from this number claiming to be Barclaycard. They insisted on getting our date of birth, but we firmly stated that no legitimate bank would ask for such personal information and promptly hung up. We'll definitely be keeping a close eye on our bill moving forward.

My father received a rather dubious telephone call instructing him to ring 08448119111. The caller managed to extract a considerable amount of personal information from him before I stepped in. This individual purported to be one John Moore, representing the fraud department of Barclays located in Canary Wharf. He alleged that a transaction for £1500 had taken place at an Apple store using my dad's card. When I pressed him for his precise address, there was a noticeable pause, after which he resorted to a rather crude insult and abruptly ended the conversation!

We received a call from this number claiming to be Barclays, and they wanted to know our date of birth! We promptly told them that banks don’t ask for such personal details over the phone and hung up. We’ll be scrutinising our statements with a fine-tooth comb moving forward!

I’ve just had a rather unwelcome surprise on my bill, totalling close to £70 for calls made to this number. Truth be told, I have no recollection of dialling it, but seeing as I settle my credit card bill monthly and that was on the 25th of February, it’s possible I did inadvertently ring it. What’s utterly baffling is that my number shows I called it twice in a single day, and a shocking three and a half hours was spent on the line during one of those calls! Upon further digging, I discovered it’s an automated service for settling barclaycard payments. I can scarcely believe I’d spend that amount of time conversing with a machine! I reached out to my mobile provider, EE, for assistance, but they seem to be sticking rigidly to the notion that it’s my responsibility, asserting that I must have made those calls. What avenues are available for me to reclaim my funds? It feels like no one is taking my concerns seriously. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Received a call from this number, 08448119111, on the 10th of July, 2008, while we were out and about. They didn’t bother to leave a message, so we’re completely in the dark about who it might be!
