Received a rather dubious phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, purporting to be from my former letting agency, insisting that I settle my rent despite the fact that I no longer reside at that property! What a complete scam!

This number rang me up and started asking for my personal info, then they went on about making some payments? Really suspicious if you ask me.

All afternoon I kept getting calls from this number, with someone saying they were from Countrywide Lettings, really pushy about me paying rent immediately or it’d be overdue. I phoned Countrywide myself to check, and my rent’s already paid. Definitely a scammer. My partner has had calls from the same number too, but they pretend to be ‘Three’, the mobile network, trying to get him to upgrade by asking for card details and all that. Best just to block and ignore this number, and never hand over any bank or card info!

I’m pretty sure this isn’t actually Dwayne Johnson’s number. Got a phone call super early this morning from someone trying to sell a new men’s fragrance called ‘Flatulessence by Dwayne’. Curiously, I asked what the scent was like and was greeted by possibly the loudest, wettest fart I’ve ever heard on a call. I then asked if it was some sort of joke, and the caller let out another massive toot before asking, ‘Can’t you smell that, mate?’ Totally baffled, I said, ‘Smell what?’ and he shouted, ‘WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!’ then giggled, farted again, and hung up straight away. At that moment, there was no way it was the real Rock. Honestly, this kind of nonsense has got to end.

I was in the middle of work when my phone rang. The noise on the other end sounded like someone letting out a trumpet noise, or a rude fart. Then the person asked if I could smell anything weird, and I said no, what’s that about? Next thing, they made the fart noise again and joked, “can you smell what the rock is cooking?” They laughed a bit and then just ended the call. Honestly, not really funny or worth it.

Hey, just wanted to share my experience. After i switched to countrywide, they teamed up with bairstow eves and handed over the payment stuff to some small company based in india. This little firm apparently gave my info to someone they know, who’s running a scam. It’s connected to some family drama with her mum’s boyfriend’s indian sister or something. Then they start telling their sister that you’re late on rent and ask her to call you and get the rent paid! So, you get a call from them, thinking you gotta pay up, and end up getting scammed. The 0166 number is legit, but never ever send money to those immobilis folks - always pay countrywide directly!

Today between 10:06 and 11:31 I saw 4 missed calls but my phone was on silent since I was at a training session. I tried calling back straight away, but no one picked up. It would ring 3 or 4 times then the tone changed, like the line had been cut or something.

Anyone know who this might be? Looks dodgy or a scam maybe?

This number is linked to Countywide. I don’t understand how they constantly fall behind on paying, it’s baffling with all the technology we have now. If they ring your mobile, I’d suggest getting a call blocker - I’ve got Call Control on my Android and it works quite well. And to those people bragging about paying rent well ahead of time, not everyone can manage that sort of thing. Honestly, it seems daft to hand over a huge sum to someone else when you could be making the money work for you instead.

So yeah, there’s four of us living together and outta nowhere, two of us got calls from this same number. They somehow already knew our names, where exactly we live, and even the rent we’re paying... Creepy much?

Got a call today telling me I owe rent. Thing is, I’ve already sorted rent for the next half year. Checked with my agent and they said they never rang me, plus the caller didn't sound like any of their staff. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

So, I got a call demanding rent payment even though I’ve already paid 7 months ahead. What’s weird is how they got hold of my number and somehow knew the exact dates of my rental agreement. Feels pretty dodgy to me.
