I didn’t bother sticking around to see what it was about, just ended the call straight away.

Got my phone bill today and noticed I was charged £13.95 for a call lasting about 13 minutes to this number. Looks like it was a chat with Thompson and Morgan about an order I got that arrived all broken. Honestly, I’d recommend being cautious if you see this number pop up, and I wouldn’t trust Thompson and Morgan from my experience. I won’t be buying from them again, that’s for sure.

Tried ordering online from Thompson & Mordan but it just wouldn’t go through, so I gave them a ring instead. Big mistake. Even though I called a 0333 number, I got slapped with a £10.20 charge for the call - felt like a total rip off. Definitely not using their phone line again, and I’m thinking twice about ordering from them at all now.

Thompson and Morgan's order line, May 2024. You need to give them a ring if your plants haven't arrived yet. But if they have been delivered and the plant is dead, you also have to call. There's an option for a refund on orders that are overdue (ours was like 5 months late). Still no refund though, waiting here.

Ordered a couple of sets of bushes and ended up stuck on hold for ages. Didn’t think the charges were adding up, but after following up on my order, I ended up paying way more than I intended. Definitely not what you want in this hectic time, and I won’t be going back to this firm.

Got charged £5.41 for a 10 minute call to Thompson and Morgan to place an order, and now its almost the end of May and I’m still waiting on some items. Will definitely not be using these dodgy sellers again, and honestly the plants weren’t that great either. Total waste of time.

This 0844 number is for Thompson & Morgan's order line. Folks are getting stung - not directly by T&M since they only get 7p a minute for the call, but my wife got hit with 55p a minute extra by her mobile provider on top of that when she called on her phone! The real scam here seems to be the mobile company, which this time was O2. Be careful calling this number. They do have a 0333 400 0033 customer service line - I'd recommend using that one instead since it’s cheaper.

Ringed them up to ask if they could stop posting catalogues to my dad’s place since he sadly passed away. Figured I’d be doing Thompson and Morgan a good turn by saving them the expense of sending out unwanted catalogues. But nope, I ended up getting charged for it. Really doesn’t seem like proper customer service to me.

This is Thompson & Morgan, a pretty well known company selling seeds, plants and gardening stuff. Their site says: “Sales Order Hotline: 0844 573 1818. Calls are charged at 7p a minute plus your phone provider’s access fee.” But actually, if you’re on a BT landline it works out around 1p every second. A 23 second call would only be about 24p. Be careful when dialling those sorts of numbers. Unfortunatly, lots of people end up getting caught out by such dodgy tricks. Whether it be email or postal mail, you’ve got to stay alert.

This is Thompson & Morgan. Like what others have said, I called to ask about my plants that were really late being delivered. I got charged £3.56 just for the call and, funny enough, my plants showed up 3 days after. Feels like a scam to me and I’ll definitely not be buying from them again.

Nice to find some useful info here. I also got hit with a weird £2.41 premium rate fee, which after checking here turned out to be from Thompson & Morgan. Spent 11 minutes waiting on hold - luckily no extra charges when I called up to complain about the plants arriving dead. Definitely got scammed by Thompson and Morgan! Waited more than two months for my order, so I called this number to check up. Ended up on the phone for 7 mins, didn’t realise it was premium rate, and it cost me £4.60 - saw it on my phone bill later. I’d already emailed them a week before but got an automatic reply saying it might take 10-14 days to get a response, and then another 2 weeks for the order to be processed. This is just rubbish, even considering the current situation. I won’t be buying plants from them again, that’s for sure.

I got a call about some kind of promo flyer sent to a name that’s never been on this address. Ended up being charged £1.54 for the call. Strange stuff.

Had a look at my SKY phone bill and noticed they'd charged me £4.57 for phoning Thompson and Morgan about a late delivery with dead plants. Nowhere was it mentioned that this was a premium number. I was stuck on hold forever with that message "waiting to connect you to an advisor". Never again T&M... dead plants and a total rip off with those call costs!

I decided to look up this number after noticing my phone bill shot up, turns out it’s Customer Care for Thompson and Morgan, the plant supplier. I hadn’t received my delivery so I rang up, got through and was told the plants were sent via Royal Mail but left somewhere else. Oddly, they’d sent tiny plugs I never ordered. After ages on hold, I managed to speak to customer service again, but got nowhere. It seems these companies just want you to order and complain online now - no real people involved, just a cold, frustrating system. Sure, garden centres might cost a bit more, but having someone to talk to properly is worth it. Won’t be buying from them again for sure.

I rang TandM customer service on 08445731818 on 2 April 2019 to ask about a parcel that hadn’t arrived. Had no clue it was a premium number and ended up with a £7.58 bill for sorting out their mistake! Seriously, watch out for this dodgy practice, it’s a proper rip-off!

I sent an email via some middleman, got a nice response saying they'd reply soon about my question. Still waiting, no word at all. Fingers crossed they look after the plants better than they do customers.

My 83 year old mum rang me up asking why she had a £7 charge on her BT bill. I did a reverse search and it turned out to be these people. It's awful how they try to con older folks. Ever since I got a gadget to block and check her calls, I've been amazed at how many scam calls land on her phone every week! (I’m not gonna say the brand though, don’t want anyone thinking I’m working for them).

Have a go at calling 01473 806145, found it on the ‘SAYNOTO0870’ website. When I rang, they asked me to send an email to [email protected] to request a refund for the fees I was charged. They also gave me a freephone number, but it kept disconnecting after a few rings, really frustrating!

So basically, someone sent a plant to the wrong place because there was no house number on the order and Yodel just picked a random one. I phoned this number to sort out the delivery and get it to the right address, and then I got hit with a £1.22 charge! Can you believe it? Just trying to help out and now I have to pay for it!

Thomson and Morgan, in my opinion, are just plain rip-offs. I ordered 48 lavender plants a few months ago and ended up losing eleven of them. That’s nearly 25% that didn’t survive. I rang them twice but only got a recorded message about how important my call was, which ended up costing me £2.35. After that, I just gave up. I also tried emailing them, but their website acted up and my message never went through. Honestly, I’m marking their number as ‘dangerous’ - dangerous for your bank balance, that is.
