7 monthsBack in August 2025, I got a letter from Curry’s which had their Customer Service number as 0844 5610000. Then, in November 2025, I called that number three times and ended up with a bill of £46.80 just in call charges. However, on another Curry's form, the contact is shown as 0344 5610000. I suspect the 0844 number was an old call centre service that Curry’s used before, probably one that handled calls for multiple companies. When I spoke to the person on the line, they mentioned they were located in Cape Town, South Africa.CurrysCape TownSouth Africa3 yearsWas trying to get through to Currys and looked up their contact number on Google. Found this one but after calling, noticed it started with 0844 which might not be free, so I ended the call pretty quickly, just after about 14 seconds. Ended up being charged 28p which was a bit annoying. Luckily I didn't stay on longer. I’m pretty sure this isn’t Currys directly but some kind of third party service. Feels a bit iffy legally, and there really ought to be a clear heads-up about the cost before you call.Currys3 yearsWay overpriced, total scam. Stay clear and don’t ring them!4 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from O2, but it was just a scam trying to get hold of my personal info.4 yearsNot really sure about it.5 yearsI keep seeing a small charge, like 22p this time, on my bill from this number every month. No clue who owns it but feels like a scam or some dodgy service ripping me off.5 yearsgot a call from currys or so they said, but the number wasnt even working properly and then they went ahead and charged me 60p! feels like a total rip off!Currys6 yearsI didn't even pick up when this number rang me, but somehow I've been charged because of their calls. It's so frustrating!6 yearsHad these scammy auto dialler lot call me and ended up costing me a few quid. Tried getting BT and the police involved, but no luck so far. It's ridiculous how they manage to nick money just because you pick up the phone.6 yearsThey called me and it ended up costing me money, definitely a scam.7 yearsNo idea who's calling from this number.10 yearsI just had the most frustrating experience with the number 084456 10000. It ran us a bill of £1.33 just to find out about stock availability at PC World! They assured us they would check and ring us back, but surprise, surprise, that call never came through. Now we've got to waste our time calling them again. This is definitely the last time we use their services. They've completely put us off as customers - what a complete swindle!PC World10 yearsWe've been receiving invoices linked to these numbers, and we're rather baffled as to who these individuals are. Could you assist us in clarifying this situation, please?10 yearsI reached out for some details, but my call was cut off after a brief five-second wait. We're unsure about the potential costs involved in this situation.10 yearsWe had to ring up PC World regarding a fault, and we ended up getting charged £1.77 just because they kept putting us on hold! What a complete con!PC World10 yearsIf you wanna find out the address of Curry’s store in Bristol, you can ring up their Avonmeads shop on 0044 8445 610000. They should be able to give you the details you need.CurrysBristol10 yearsIt's likely a representative from PC World; we reckon it's their customer service team.PC World10 yearsWe're none the wiser about who's calling us from this number.11 yearsAbsolutely correct! That’s definitely the customer service number for PC World. The area code seems to be from the US, which explains why the call costs an arm and a leg. I certainly wish I hadn't made that call myself!PC WorldUS11 yearsWe rang them up to arrange for the collection of our laptop, but they left us twiddling our thumbs on hold. When the bill arrived, my mum absolutely lost it! It turned out to be a whopping £3.77. But honestly, we couldn't care less; it’s not us footing the bill! Hahaha!Hahaha12 yearsI recently had an experience with PC World that has left me rather disheartened. Not only am I faced with an unexpected repair bill, but this is the second time I’ve had the same issue crop up in just twelve weeks. To add insult to injury, their promise to call me back has turned out to be just that-a promise without any follow-through, which means I’m left to hound them for updates! What a brilliant strategy, PC World! Maybe it’s time for me to hit them where it stings-by pulling my custom and potentially affecting their stock price. The same goes for Currys. It would be nice to show these so-called savvy marketing gurus that genuine customer support is what truly matters in the long run. After all, chasing short-term gains can often backfire.PC WorldCurrys12 yearsRang up for some information and ended up waiting on hold for a good five minutes. Honestly, I have no idea what that might set us back.12 yearsWe've got insurance for both our desktop and laptop. I've had to ring the so-called "technical support" regarding a pesky PC issue far too many times in the past three weeks, and when I finally tallied all the call charges, it came to nearly twenty quid! PC WORLD, you lot are a proper rip-off!12 yearsWe contacted them regarding our laptop and ended up stuck on hold. Bill, bless him, was driving his mum up the wall with the chaos over a measly £3.77. But at the end of the day, it wasn’t us stumping up for that bill, haha! 😂BillSubmit Your Own Report (0844 561 0000)
