We recently encountered the very same issue. The phone rang long enough for us to retrieve it from our pocket, but alas, the caller hung up before we managed to pick up. There's no way we're calling that number back. We're not in the position of owing anyone any money, so it certainly isn’t a debt collector attempting to reach us. It's the same old story, really. I answered a call only for the other end to go silent. Having spent some time in a call centre myself, I can tell when a recorded dialler is at play. It makes the call to your number, and then an agent is supposed to join in, greeting you with a friendly "hello," but occasionally, the system pushes the dialler too quickly, leaving no one available on the line. So, you pick up, but there's no response, and before you know it, the call gets disconnected. It gives off a rather mischievous vibe, akin to a prank call, don't you think?

We received a call from this number, and the chap on the line tried to sell us something called credit payment insurance. I’m not quite sure what that entails to be honest. It’s best to avoid responding to these calls altogether, as they seem utterly pointless and likely to incur charges. Just steer clear, if you ask me!
