Got a text sayin not to press anything and it just plays a message askin if your parcel’s delivered or on its way. It actually called my home phone, probably cos I ordered from Sports Direct through eBay (had a voucher). They don’t normally ring my landline so I guess eBay must’ve passed my number on with the order, bit annoying really.

Got a call from the same number twice today, saying I had a voicemail on SMS and to press one to listen. I was a bit skeptical so I didn’t answer and looked up the number online, and found this site. Funny enough, I did get a delivery from Sports Direct via Hermes today, so maybe it was about that parcel. I didn’t press anything since it was an 08 number and I figured it wasn’t anyone I knew, so hopefully I didn’t get stuck in some sort of endless loop.

No idea who this was. Got a call on my landline saying there was an SMS waiting, and to press 1 to hear it, 2 and 3 for other options, or 4 to delete. I tried pressing 1 but it just kept playing the same message over and over. Then I pressed 4 but it just stayed stuck in the same loop like other people said. Proper annoying. The number showed up as 03333440000 too!

This number has been ringing my home phone loads over the past couple of weeks, always about some SMS message concerning a delivery. Really irritating. The message mentioned the number 08445437397 but when I called 1471 straight after, it showed up as 03333 4400000. Such a confusing mess.

This morning I got a couple of robotic voicemail alerts on my home phone. Just to be clear, both messages were legit updates from Hermes about my parcel. One was letting me know a delivery was on its way, and the other was telling me it had been delivered.

I got a call about a parcel, saying I should ring some 08445 number or check out a site called mensworld. Honestly, it smells like a scam to me, and in a couple of ways. First off, the phone number they want you to call is pretty much a premium rate one, costing loads. Then, the website they push could have some dodgy stuff on it that might infect your computer. Definitely wouldn’t trust it.

Got a voicemail from 03333-440000 on my answerphone. There was no real info, just a number 08445-437397 mentioned. I didn't ring back 'cause I wasn't sure. Was waiting for a delivery though, so maybe that’s connected.

Might’ve been daft to press 1, but I did. They told me my delivery was supposed to arrive between 9 and 1, then rang back saying today’s busy and it’d be pushed to 10 to 2. After seeing others’ experiences, I’m done answering their calls. If they've already taken 40,000, how many more people have to complain before something gets sorted? Or is this just some overseas number they can’t really deal with here in the UK?

Got two calls from this number, about 2 hours apart. First one was an automated SMS saying something about a website I couldn’t really catch, and it gave a tracking number too quick to jot down - looked like it had about 16 digits or more. It asked me to ring back on 0844 358 3862 if I wanted to listen to the message again about some order or delivery, which I hadn’t actually placed. Then the second call told me the order was delivered, dropped the same tracking number, and repeated the same phone number to call if the package never showed up. Just a heads up: calling 0843, 0844, or 0845 numbers usually means two charges - one is the access fee your phone provider charges (for example, Talk Talk takes 11.5p a minute), and the other is the service charge from the company you’re calling, which can be up to 7p a minute. This is clearly a scam trying to trick you into calling so they can cash in on the call fees. DON’T RING BACK!

When you pick up, it states the number 08445 437397, then the name of the company they’re delivering for, after that a tracking code, and ends with [#]hermes world so you can check your parcel’s status. Got a text on my landline from this number, which seemed odd. When I called back, the recorded message said "If you have an issue with your order, please get in touch with the seller," but it didn’t say who was calling. I’m thinking of reporting this to the TPS. If I’ve been billed for the message, I’ll definitely pursue it further.
