Tesco Mobile has taken a hefty sum from me (£22.67) because I either called them or answered their call. They charge £3.14 and the call lasted 36 minutes, but I got hit with an extra £19.50, probably from the 0844 number’s operators. I had a 20-minute phone conversation and ended up being billed over £15, which was quite a shock to me as I wasn't informed prior to the call. I've used this number previously without issues. I was trying to use my Avios and a companion voucher to book a trip, called BA, spoke to a guy who said anywhere in Caribbean, any dates 14 days apart. He put me on hold and then the call dropped, so I ended up paying for nothing. Thanks a lot, BA. Also, I filled in their survey and wasnt exactly impressed with their service!

I find this utterly absurd and quite intolerable. Charging £48.43 for a call to British Airways to sort out a problem that remains unresolved is quite frankly outrageous. This is an awful way for British Airways to do business. Since we wanted to combine coach and premium economy flights, we couldn’t book online and had to ring this number instead. There was nothing saying it was a premium rate line. Watch out for the friendly-sounding staff - now I get why they were so talkative.
