When you ring, if the item is available, they charge you for the call, the product itself, and then for postage on top. Even if they don’t have what you want, you’re still hit with the call cost. Feels like dodgy behaviour to me, and I’d steer clear of this firm.

If you check out the Scotts of Stow site, that number is meant for placing orders. They say 0844 numbers cost 7p a minute plus what your provider adds on, but my bill was more than £4! Virgin checked it and said the call came from a firm called "Delgard", which is a fencing company based in Spain or something!? Definitely very weird.

It's absolutely disgraceful how my elderly father is being charged around £1.90 each month due to these unscrupulous calls aimed at vulnerable individuals. He never invited these calls; they just seem to pile in relentlessly. It's infuriating that we, as a family, are left footing the bill for this nonsense! Sounds like a telemarketer to me. When I picked up, the guy started telling me about some “exciting offers” that might catch my interest. I asked what kind of offers and he said he’d only tell me if I gave him my address, name and age. No way am I falling for that.

On the 18th of July, this number rang me twice at 17:51 and 17:52. The first call lasted 52 seconds, racking up a charge of £0.18, while the second went on for a hefty 3 minutes, costing me £0.66. Just to be clear, I never dialled them! I’ve made my mind up to block this number now. The background seemed to buzz with chatter like a call centre, but oddly enough, nobody bothered to say a word.
