Today, on the 5th of October 2016 at precisely 10:44, I received a rather pressing message requesting that I ring them back promptly. Instead of making the call, I opted to block the number altogether. They've also contacted me before, asking me to dial a different number, 0345 002 0842. To the best of my knowledge, I have no association with them whatsoever.

It most certainly pertains to bill settlement. I've recently received a call from UDS, and they mentioned our previous Eon account number, which has been closed for over a year and is fully paid off. After contacting Eon, it seems there's an unexpected £16 charge on that old account. It's evident that they have outsourced this to UDS without properly investigating the matter first. Thus, UDS does seem to be a bona fide company. Nonetheless, I would advise against providing them with any personal information; it's always best to check back with Eon, or whoever they claim to represent in your situation.

I received a rather alarming text instructing me to urgently call 08444723944, citing my E-on account number as a reference. However, I had already spoken to E-on several hours ago after receiving a letter claiming that we were in debt to them. This simply isn’t the case, as I previously informed them back in August 2010 that my ex-partner would be handling the bills from that point onwards, meaning I am in no way responsible for her outstanding payments. They mentioned sending a red bill to her, so I truly don’t understand why I received such a message. I absolutely refuse to give them a call!

We are absolutely livid that EON has shared our mobile number with these absolute imbeciles without our consent. They've texted us, insisting we must contact them immediately. We're currently locked in a dispute with EON over this. I actually parted ways with them back in July, and now these chancers are trying to slap me with a final bill based on an ESTIMATED reading! The invoice for May to July came to £144, and since then, I've only used a mere eight units between 30th July and 23rd September. It's a right scam! Just wait until we finally get through to UDS! By the way, does anyone know how much these calls to UDS are likely to set us back?

Recently, we received a rather perplexing text from UDS, indicating that the former owner of our residence was eager to get in touch with them. It’s baffling how they connected our phone number to this situation. We’re left scratching our heads, as this seems to infringe upon the Data Protection Act. I received a rather urgent text instructing me to ring a particular number. Upon calling, they requested my name and address for ‘verification’ purposes. I explained that, given I had no clue who they were, I’d need them to identify the company they were representing before handing over any information - I mean, it’s only sensible, isn’t it? The lady on the line claimed they couldn’t disclose such details, so I courteously decided to end the call. About half an hour later, after doing a bit of research on this site to ease my mind about potential scams, I decided to give them another go. As it turns out, they were in the middle of updating my information since I had closed my Eon account a few months back, and the message was actually sent by mistake. What a palaver!

We've received a couple of text messages from that number. Didn't fancy calling them just yet, but I'm tempted to give it a whirl eventually. We were with EON on a prepayment gas meter for about a year before deciding to move on. Their sweet-talking is all well and good, but the reality of the costs is akin to navigating a minefield.
