Got charged for a call I didn’t even make, and turns out it was some dodgy scam from Irish numbers. This kind of fraud is getting out of hand and it’s costing loads. These guys are just making money off their arses while we’re left picking up the tab. Something seriously needs to be done about this nonsense.

I had a call from LCS, turns out they’re debt collectors working for HMRC. I actually rang HMRC myself to be sure it was legit, but after I spoke to them, my bill suddenly shot up! So, if they get in touch with you, it’s probably worth picking up - could stop you losing a load of money. The number they called from was 08444113245.

I looked up the number that rang me, 01483 815 300, and it turns out it’s linked to a company called Novatrans (UK), which supposedly deals with freight. Tried reaching out via the email they listed on their site, but it just bounced back saying it didn’t exist. Their website itself looks quite sloppy, nothing like what you’d expect from a serious business handling the kind of clients they mention. I’m guessing this might be a phishing attempt trying to trick folks into ringing the 0844 number they give. Caller ID showed Novatrans (UK).
