I informed him that he ought not to be ringing me since we're registered with the Telephone Preference Service. However, that clearly fell on deaf ears. Just had a call earlier today, 21st January 2014, from a woman who seemed to know my name, which was quite unsettling, considering the number she rang isn’t publicly available. It’s a bit concerning, isn’t it? If everyone who experiences these sorts of unsolicited calls took the time to notify the Information Commissioner, maybe we could finally put an end to this nuisance once and for all.

Lately, I've been inundated with calls from various individuals informing me that they've been receiving bothersome calls supposedly from the energy advisory service. Just to clarify, I run my energy assessment business entirely on my own and have never engaged in cold calling of any kind. This situation has taken quite a toll on me, and I’ve reported it to Ofcom. Is there a way to put a stop to a particular number? I’ve been inundated with at least four calls a day from that same number for the past few months. I’ve got caller ID, so I tend to ignore them, but it’s quite baffling how they’re allowed to continue like this!

I received a couple of calls from this number today regarding energy matters. I've looked into their origins, and typically, when I track them down, I reach out to Trading Standards where they're located, which seems to put an end to the nuisance - or at least it has thus far.

In August, I was bombarded with a staggering 18 calls, and in September, it dropped to 17, with some days seeing as many as five calls from this particular number! In response to a query by Anonymous from a couple of months back, there are indeed gadgets designed to silence those pesky calls while still keeping a record of them. I've invested in a BT 6500 phone, which comes equipped with a blocking feature that effectively tackles this nuisance. It’s frustrating that organisations like TPS, BT, or even the Government seem reluctant to intervene and put an end to this harassment, which intrudes upon our personal space. Consequently, we must take matters into our own hands to reclaim a bit of our peace and quiet!
