Strangely enough, even if you haven't engaged in any of those activities, businesses across the UK are still permitted to call you at least once. The TPS doesn't seem to make this clear, perhaps because they are more interested in their sales targets. Regarding the firm you mentioned operating under the guise of Energy Advisory Fund, I believe they are nothing but a scam attempting to persuade consumers to invest in solar panels. Their claims about grants are baseless, as they simply don’t have the authority to offer such deals. The actual name of the company is DCM Marketing. A caller claimed to be from Energy Advisory Front. When I tried to return the call, the number didn’t seem familiar at all. I’ve even scoured Google but couldn’t locate anything about Energy Advisory Front. Odd, isn’t it?

They rang me up on 13th March 2013 around 5.43pm, said something about the Energy Advisory Centre or Fund, can't quite remember. The guy had a Scottish accent and seemed clueless about the TPS. He knew our names though, which was a bit odd. When I threw in a comment about Sex & Travel, he suddenly vanished. Bit weird, really.

Got a ring from this number today. The caller claimed to be from some Energy Advice Fund or something. We had a bit of a chat, then he asked how old I was. Once I told him I was over 75, he just hung up! Fingers crossed that means they won’t bother me again. I'm Scottish myself, but honestly, his accent was so thick I struggled to understand a word he said.

So I got a call from these lot called the Energy Advisory Fund, and they say they’re from Paisley. It’s all a scam about solar panels, don’t believe a word. If you want to get in touch for some reason, try writing to Nicola Pyle or Danielle Stewart at Trident House, Renfrew Road, Paisley. Just thought I’d warn anyone else getting calls from them!

Had my fourth marketing call today even though I’m registered with TPS. The first caller from NPower was really apologetic and promised it wouldn’t happen again once I mentioned TPS. The next two just hung up as soon as I asked who they were with. But the last one was something else - when I asked for the company name, this bloke said in a cheeky tone, "I’ll give you my number any time," and I could hear a call centre buzzing in the background. He kept butchering my surname and eventually claimed the company was called "C & D Dildo's" after I kept pressing him. When I still refused to end the call, he finally hung up. The guy sounded Glaswegian and I reckon he was from the so-called "Energy Advisory Fund" - a company I hear a lot of people complain about. Gotta admit, they’re pretty bold!

I switched my account to Santander recently, and now I’ve realised this number is what they use. It’s pretty annoying because if you try to contact your local branch about anything, you just get redirected to this one number instead. Not very helpful at all.

Got a call from this number earlier. Someone with an accent I couldn’t place answered, so I figured they might be calling from abroad. They mentioned something about me being on a nuisance call list, but they didn’t seem to know what that involved. They told me I should report the number to that register myself. After that, they just said “okay, perfect” and ended the call.
