It seems we’re experiencing a rather peculiar situation with these callers who keep dialling both our landline and mobile. Strangely enough, they never leave any messages. I haven’t bothered to return the calls, but it’s quite odd to find out that I’m not the sole individual dealing with this annoyance.

How intriguing! We do carry out our due diligence and, as it happens, we possess a PayPal account currently showing a negative balance. It leads me to speculate that these callers are perhaps attempting to pressure us into settling this debt.

This was related to PayPal. We've just sent the ring back using this number.

It's quite fascinating to see folks suggesting it’s definitely linked to Paypal. I’ve only just shifted residence and set up a new phone line and number. Being ex-directory and on the preferred list for calls, even members of my family haven't had this number before, not to mention it's not associated with our Paypal account in any way. Personally, I’m leaning towards it being a random dialler, but I suppose we could be mistaken.

They called us twice, but we missed both calls, and the callers never leave a message. I'm not keen on returning the call, as it's an 0844 number, which would end up costing a fortune.

I've come to the conclusion that PayPal are quite shady!

I received a couple of calls from this number this afternoon. Every time we answered, they lingered on the line for around ten minutes before just hanging up. It’s quite concerning, especially since our number was previously deregistered. The mere fact that they have our contact details raises serious questions about compliance with the Data Protection Act of 1987.

We've recently received a call from the same number, and upon answering, we were informed that they were from PayPal and were trying to extract sensitive information, like our account details. We promptly hung up and reached out to PayPal ourselves, only to be warned that it was indeed a scam and advised against sharing any personal information. They also suggested that if the calls continue, we should report them to our local law enforcement.

Whenever these numbers pop up, you can bet they're on the prowl! They won't leave a voice message, as they seem to want to confirm you're the right person before even considering a VM or talking to you directly. It all feels a bit dodgy, doesn't it? Like they’re skirting some legal boundaries or something.

You absolute numpty, you lot are nothing but a bunch of scammers! Do the decent thing and head back to your own country, you absolute pillocks!

It appears that these individuals are quick to demand payment via PayPal for alleged debts! Just a heads up, when you hear from eBay, PayPal, or associated debt collectors like Iqor, you're not automatically liable for any claims unless they can provide a signed agreement. You can easily find a template for a CCA request on the MoneySavingExpert forum, which can be quite handy. Take care!

Since the 25th of September, I've been receiving calls from PayPal-four times a day, no less! It’s beyond frustrating, and I find it downright harassing. What’s even more exasperating is trying to get in touch with PayPal to voice my complaints; it feels like an impossible task!

It seems that when these individuals possess both numbers, they tend to go after both! Typically, they won't leave a voice message as their first step is to authenticate your account before having a chat with a voicemail or with you. If they don't do this, it could potentially breach legal regulations, wouldn't you agree?

PayPal rang us up out of the blue, but they were after someone completely different! Quite the mix-up, really! 😂

I reckon BT must recycle their phone numbers, which might explain why you've been receiving calls from these individuals. We still get calls for the previous owner of our number even two and a half years down the line! Quite the nuisance, really.

I can't quite fathom why they're so brazen about claiming to be Paypal when I'm certain it's not the case. I've never relied on or plan to use Paypal, especially with more cost-effective options available. The only folks who have this number are my relatives, so it raises eyebrows that we received five calls from this number just today! I ended up serenading them with a lovely rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' for a couple of minutes, and they promptly hung up-how rude! :)

It hardly counts as a local call, considering you’ve got this all-in-one deal that sets you back 10p just to connect, plus another 7p for every minute spent yacking away. Honestly, if they were truly keen on having a chat, they’d surely dial you up on a proper geographic landline. With all the tech advancements these folks are capable of in places like Bangalore or Mumbai, it wouldn’t be a bother for them at all.

It seems rather probable that this site previously belonged to the user 'baby20girl' mentioned earlier, who was hinting that it’s linked to PayPal!
