Received another dodgy text from this number. It's clearly spam. Just another nuisance in my inbox!

I've received a rather dodgy text claiming to be from O2, suggesting that they're offering an iPad to those who are on a Pay Monthly plan. The funny thing is, I haven't been with O2 for the past three years!

Oh, what a right pickle I've got myself into! I truly ought to have checked the number online beforehand. I gave them a bell, and after a few minutes of being on hold, the call just cut out! Quite the nuisance, really. Do you reckon I should give O2 a shout to inform them of my blunder?

I received a similar message too and thought it was just another spam attempt. Mind you, I'm an O2 customer myself.

Received a message earlier suggesting I could score a complimentary iPad if I were to upgrade my phone with O2. How peculiar!

They’re promising me an iPad if I decide to upgrade my plan, but I've always been on pay as you go, so that simply isn't an option for me.

I received a text message that was identical, claiming I'd won a free iPad and the like. So, I decided to ring up O2 for clarification. They informed me that it's not them reaching out; it's actually some third-party firm, and O2 has nothing to do with it at all. Quite the con, really!

Got a call saying I could get a free iPad if I switched my phone plan. Sounds fishy to me, anyone else had this?

Got the exact same text as the one mentioned before. After seeing what others said, i decided to just delete it straight away.

I wouldn't trust that Ahmet-Panky "live chat" thing up there. He’s been dropping that on loads of "who called me" pages to make the number seem legit. Just do a quick Google check yourself. It’s a scam, definitely a premium rate number that’ll cost you a fortune if you ring it.

I was having a quick chat with O2 on their live chat earlier today... Here’s how it went: Me: I got a text from O2 Me: Wanted to check if it’s legit or a scam Agent: Alright. Me: It said if I upgrade my contract now, I could get a free iPad Agent: Sorry, for this you’d better pop into your nearest O2 shop, they can advise further Me: The message came from LASTCHANCE Me: It said something like, “O2 Pay Monthly customers only: Upgrade now for a free Apple iPad. Limited stock, first come first served. Call 08443300121” Agent: Thanks for that. Agent: You should ring that number directly for more info. Me: So, the number 08443300121 is actually linked to O2? Agent: Yes, it’s a dedicated line for customer queries. Me: Alright, cheers for clearing that up Me: Thanks a lot Me: Bye Agent: No problem at all. Me: Bye Agent: Glad to help. Have a nice weekend!

Total spam, don't bother with it at all!!

I got an email saying if I upgrade my pay monthly contract with 02 early, I could get a free Apple iPad. They said they’d cover any remaining charges on my current deal and I could pick a new phone like the Samsung Galaxy 4 - which I’m interested in. It sounds a bit too good to be true though. The email said it’s only for 02 pay monthly customers and they’re doing it on a first come, first served basis. I called the number they gave, 08443300121, but not sure if I should trust it. Anyone had any experience with this?
