I’m a landlord with a few HMOs and have Sky accounts for some flats, so I assumed this was a genuine charge alongside the other legit Sky bills. They’ve been taking £91.50 for more than a year! After contacting Sky, they told me the right description on the bank statement should be “Sky Digital”, not “Sky Subscription” which is what’s been unlawfully withdrawn from my account. I’ve asked my bank to block any further payments from that source, but now I just need to sort out a refund with them.

I tried hanging up loads of times but the person just kept changing the subject instead of letting me go, which was really strange. You’d imagine they’d be happy to end the call quickly. On 16/7/18, I noticed a £20 charge and called Sky to check, but they told me they hadn’t taken any payment. I’m not sure where that charge appeared from or what it’s meant to cover. If you need to ring your phone or broadband provider and your landline’s working, just dial 150 to get connected directly. There’s plenty of shady websites out there handing out numbers that’ll cost you a bomb. Sadly, they’re not actually breaking the law so it’s hard to stop them. Just be careful, really careful!!
