I’m a landlord with a few HMOs and have Sky accounts for some flats, so I assumed this was a genuine charge alongside the other legit Sky bills. They’ve been taking £91.50 for more than a year! After contacting Sky, they told me the right description on the bank statement should be “Sky Digital”, not “Sky Subscription” which is what’s been unlawfully withdrawn from my account. I’ve been billed £34.32 for a rather drawn-out conversation with a telemarketer. Despite my attempts to end the call several times, they just kept changing the subject, which I found quite baffling. You’d assume they’d be eager to wrap it up, wouldn’t you? If you need to ring your phone or broadband provider and your landline’s working, just dial 150 to get connected directly. There’s plenty of shady websites out there handing out numbers that’ll cost you a bomb. Sadly, they’re not actually breaking the law so it’s hard to stop them. Just be careful, really careful!!
