I discovered that the number in question is linked to a monitoring station associated with an alarm company. It's quite frustrating, really, as we are already shelling out for our alarm service to be monitored, yet here we are being hit with additional charges from the monitoring station on this premium 0844 number each day. Our alarm seems to connect with them around 4 in the morning, and if it were a standard 0870 or 0845 number, we wouldn't incur these charges. It's quite the inconvenience!
