beware this number is fake! it pretends to be apple but it’s not true, cause the real apple contact is a free 0800 number. this one just rakes in £20 an hour for no good reason. steer clear! i told both apple and bt about it, but apple said it’s not their number at all.

I got a call from 08442090611 which I have no clue about. The call only lasted a second because I hung up right away when there was silence. I don’t understand why I got charged for it since I was the one who answered the call, not made it. It was just 46p but still, it’s annoying!

We found out this number is actually for Apple customer support. Their online help directed us here without telling us how much it would cost. The call went on for ages and cost us more than £60 in the end. We're planning to complain to both our mobile provider and Apple about this. It’s really not right for Apple to hand out this number as a ‘support’ line. The funny thing is, we were just trying to cancel a £2.99 monthly fee from our account.

I got billed £26.31 by BT for two calls from 08442090611. One on 28th August cost me £7.99 and another on 29th August was £18.32. I wasted more than an hour on the phone with BT, but they said they’d give me a refund. I’m really confused about how their system even works, and don’t understand why this kinda scam isn’t stopped already!

I just found out this was Apple’s customer support number! Ended up paying almost £10 for the call, really didn’t expect that. Quite annoyed!

I got charged £10 and checked it out, turns out the number belongs to Apple UK’s complaints team. You can email them at contactus{###]@euro.applef###], or ring customer services on 0844 209 0611. If you wanna book a Genius Bar slot, just head over to Apple support or tweet them. Honestly, feels like a bit of a rip-off from Apple.

On 25/04/20, my phone somehow made a call to 0844209061, but I have no recollection of dialing it. Then, a bit later on 08/05/20, another call went out from my phone to 08452269138. Because of this, I ended up with a £47 charge. I've now reported this issue to 3G. Having worked in telecoms and data exchange before, it’s possible someone inside made calls using my number without my knowledge.
