Just got a call from some lot pretending to be DHL, saying my package from China needs a big fee paid. Yeah, I do owe import tax but defo not to this number! Either these scammers have hacked into DHL’s system or they know the drill from the sender’s end. Always best to double-check on the official DHL site before handing over any cash, don’t trust phone numbers or links the caller gives you - they’re fake!

I received a yellow slip about parcels but it didn't have my name on it, which is kinda confusing. I'm not sure what exactly I ordered. Could someone please tell me how to find out more about this? Thanks a lot!

Honestly, don’t waste your time replying, it’s a total scam. Got a call from them earlier today and just ignored it.

Got a text about paying VAT on a DHL delivery supposedly just sent to me - total con! Never ring the number back and under no circumstances hand over any cash.

Got a text from BT claiming it was from DHL asking me to pay something. I rang up DHL myself, and they said the number wasn’t actually theirs! Looks like a dodgy scam to me.

This number is actually from the real DHL VAT and duty department.

This number has been ringing me non-stop for the past four days, even phoning me twice just today. They've been saying there's a package from DHL waiting for me, and I supposedly owe £27 in taxes. Thing is, I haven't bought anything from overseas. I'm just letting it go and not answering.

Never dialed this one again, but somehow they still took £1.92 from me!

Looks like that dodgy scammer bloke's caught wind of this place. Might have to have a little ‘safe but totally threatening’ chat with him, eh mate? What a muppet!

That number they've given ya for DHL about duty and VAT is actually a customs-related one, not your regular tracking or AWB number. It's what's called a 'customer' reference, assigned by customs folks, so don't mix it up with your usual shipment tracking code.

Got a voicemail from BT saying I owe over £18 plus VAT for a DHL parcel delivery. I'm waiting for a package, but there's no chance the VAT would be that high. The supposed DHL tracking number they gave was clearly fake. Seems like scammers are going after anyone expecting DHL parcels. The real issue probably begins with the sender in China organising the DHL shipping.

Got a call earlier today from 0844 2090102, supposedly from BT, with a text-to-speech message about a DHL parcel. They said I had to pay £27.50 in VAT before the package could be delivered. I had a look on the DHL site and the reference number they gave me wasn’t even valid. Sounds like the same sort of scam others have mentioned.

I recently bought something on eBay, including the shipping fees. Then, out of the blue, I received a call from someone asking for my credit card details and additional funds to clear the item through customs. If we can’t resolve this issue soon, I'll share the seller’s name with eBay for your attention.

Just got a call on my BT landline from 0844 2090102 with a voice text saying I owed £30 customs charge for a DHL package coming in. They even gave the right tracking number, and I am actually waiting on a delivery from abroad via DHL. Looks like it could be legit, but I haven’t gone ahead and paid yet since some of the earlier reviews here made me a bit wary.

So, I got a package from China and when it arrived, the DHL driver asked me to pay £19 for import duty and VAT before handing it over. I wasn’t really prepared for that extra cost, but it was the real DHL guy and I did get the order I placed. Bit of a surprise, but all legit.

Be warned, this number is a scam. I got a package supposedly from DHL, but the stuff inside was fake. I already paid the VAT when it arrived, but then these calls come through saying I owe £2.37 VAT. They pretend to be DHL, but it’s definitely not them. I called DHL myself, and they said I don’t owe anything else. Don’t trust this number!

Just a quick follow-up about the 0844 2090102 number mentioned earlier - thought it might help some of you dealing with similar calls. I got in touch with BT customer service since they handle my line rental, and I went through their steps. Turns out I had this 'text to voice' service active on my line without realising it, so I’ve gone ahead and switched it off now. Hopefully this stops those annoying calls!

Got a text saying I owed £22 tax for a DHL parcel, so I checked with DHL using their official tracking number but there wasn’t any package in my name. Im planning to call the DHL customer service number from their official site to report this. Anyone knows if there’s a way to block this number from sending messages to my landline? It’s quite annoying!

Got calls from someone pretending to be DHL saying I need to pay VAT on a delivery. They’re asking for about £32, which would mean the parcel is worth over a hundred quid. Problem is, no one at my place is expecting any parcels, especially not costing that much. These lot are really annoying, ringing several times daily.

I bought something from what I assumed was a US-based seller but it ended up being from Hong Kong. I kept requesting a DHL tracking code but got fake ones instead. When they sent me a second tracking number, I checked with DHL and it didn’t exist. Now I’ve received a message from 08442090102 demanding I pay VAT or some admin fees via epayment. No way I’m falling for that. I’ll be reaching out to DHL once more. Honestly, if you can’t purchase from within the UK or pay with PayPal, just don’t bother!

Today I got a message from DHL saying they want to deliver a parcel with reference number 7433120365, but there’s a £17 fee for Duty & VAT that needs paying. They asked me to pay through www.dhl.co.uk/epayments. Problem is, I haven't bought anything recently.

I got this weird text on my BT number saying we need to pay some HMRC fee before DHL will deliver our parcel. But then I checked the email from DHL and they said they never ask for payments like that. Honestly, I’m stumped about what’s really happening here.

Something feels off here. I ordered a product from China and already paid postage, but then I got a text demanding I pay another bill. The parcel hasn’t turned up yet, and they haven’t said if it will come at all unless I pay this extra charge. It’s definitely sounding dodgy to me. They gave a payment link but no clear details on the package location or expected delivery date. I’m not paying anything more for now. If the item never shows, I’ll get in touch with the seller directly.

Got a message at 1.38pm today 28/08/2015 from BT about a parcel supposedly from DHL. It said I had to pay £193 VAT. Since I wasn't waiting for any parcels, I just ignored and deleted the text. Same old scam really.

Just got a text from this number saying it’s from BT, like, literally this morning, Wednesday 26 August at 9:14am. I’m not sure if it’s legit or just spam? It was about DHL asking me to cover VAT and some admin fees for a parcel, but there’s no name on the package or anything. Sounds a bit dodgy, right?
