DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER, BLOCK IT STRAIGHT AWAY. I rang it from my spare phone (pay as u go) just to see what it was about. Some dodgy bloke with a strong Bradford accent picked up, saying he was from a debt collection agency for Amazon Prime. This scam number should be banned by OFCOM but those useless government people never do anything about it. Total joke.

ive seen loads of posts online from different sites saying this number is part of some premium rate callback rip off. i doubt bt has anything to do with it. its probably safest to just steer clear of the number and dont bother calling back to check. youll save yourself the hassle of having to dispute weird charges on your phone bill.

I've seen this number being linked to the Police Operation Yewtree on a few places online, but that's totally not true! Either someone’s been fed rubbish or they’re having a laugh. The truth is, it's just some telemarketer who rings you and drops the call before you even pick up, so it shows up as a missed call. Then when you ring back, you're charged a premium rate line which makes them a quick buck. Avoid calling back, it's a con!

I managed to speak to the caller eventually, and it was actually someone from the police, something about operation Yewtree. They’re following up on some old cases apparently. They told me if you’ve got nothing to hide, there’s no need to worry. But as they say, where there’s smoke... well, you know the rest.

Got a call on Sunday around 4.30 in the afternoon, but I just ignored it thinking it’d be another one of those dodgy accident or PPI scam calls. I get quite a few of these every now and then and then heard that the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t really help much in blocking these annoying calls.
