This whole thing was really odd. I received two calls from what seemed to be the same number, but the first came through as +63 7833 383496, which looks like it’s from the Philippines, and the very next call came from 07833 383496. Yet, when I checked the actual caller ID for both calls, it showed 0843 8771322. I didn’t pick up either time, just blocked the numbers and marked them as scam calls. It’s crazy how they can mask the real number behind different ones like that, I never realised that was even possible.

It's laughable when they introduce themselves with names like Diana, Charles, or Susan - do they truly think we're that naive? The endless Microsoft computer scam takes the cake for irritation. When they ask about my computer, I like to respond, "Oh, I use the one at the library," and then hand the phone to my husband. I tell him to play along as the sensible techie. "It's right in front of me - how do I turn it on?" I ask, watching them hastily hang up. It can be quite entertaining, albeit time-consuming!

I mistakenly dialled this number after a call from them popped up on my phone, and in a moment of sheer lapse, I ended up calling them back without intending to. I realised my blunder straight away and tried to end the call, but alas, it still connected for a measly 11 seconds. Much to my astonishment, when I reviewed my bill a few days down the line, I saw a charge of £1.36 staring back at me! That works out to an eye-watering rate of £7.41 per minute!
