Classic wangiri scam going around again. It’s one of those old tricks aimed at people who end up ringing back strange numbers, often unknowingly. Loads of cleverer versions of this scam exist now, with different numbers and tactics. These scams rake in money for the crooks, funding their schemes. If you get a suspicious call, make sure to text the number 7726 just like the police.uk Action Fraud site suggests for phishing reports. They’ll usually reply asking you to confirm the info too.

I've been getting calls from an 0843 number, which looks like one of those premium rate lines. It's pretty annoying so I just don't pick up.
