Got a call from a guy claiming to be with Nationwide, saying there was an attempt to take out a couple of big amounts from our bank account. He even knew the last four numbers of our account, which freaked us out a bit. The bloke asked us to use our card reader to "reset" something, but we weren’t having any of it. Later on, we rang up Nationwide’s Fraud team and they told us there was no record of any suspicious activity. Seems like a classic scam to me.
