I find it rather dubious that a legitimate number would show up as 'not recognised.' It seems to me these calls might be originating from a VOIP service, and they’re likely using automatic diallers to probe for active numbers. Once they latch onto one, they'll probably inundate you with all manner of nuisance calls. Sadly, even the Telephone Preference Service struggles to combat such persistent tactics. It's best to just ignore any unfamiliar numbers; if it's important, they'll leave a voicemail. Whatever you do, never share any personal information with a number that can't be bothered to call you back!

I keep receiving a barrage of calls from various 0843 numbers, this one included, and they just hang up as soon as I pick up. It's utterly infuriating!
