On 21st May 2015 around 9.31am, I recieved a call from this number. I was at work and let it ring out without picking up. They didn't leave a voicemail either. Working in a call centre with strict rules on these calls, I recommend that if you do answer, nicely tell them to take your number off their autodialler or you'll have to report it to Ofcom. They're legally required to do so, though it might take them up to a day. So if you get another call from them soon, it’s probably the same system trying again. Number was 0843 724 3147.

Got a ring on my phone from this number earlier. Didn't answer but it ended up on my voicemail. I picked up on a faint crackle and some background chatter. Rang them back from my landline (work phone). Turns out, it was some company phoning about compensation for a flight delay... but I’ve never been on a delayed flight. When you ring them back, they suggest you either leave a message with your personal info or press 5 to get a callback from one of their 'advisers'. Not once do they say who they are. Definitely steer clear of this lot! In my opinion, they’re like ambulance chasers but without telling you anything about themselves. Total sketchy behaviour.

Hi JL, I've created a contact list called "scammers" where I save any dodgy numbers that call me. Every now and then, I unblock then block these contacts again to keep on top of things. Also, you might want to try the Tellows app from the app store. It catches quite a few scam calls and blocks them automatically. I still get a few nuisance calls here and there, but way less than before - usually just a handful per week, often clustered together. When I block those numbers, I get a nice break for a bit! No matter what time it is, I keep getting calls from this number. I’m baffled as to how they managed to get hold of my phone, since only a few people actually have it. It’s becoming so annoying having to deal with these calls all the time.
