I completely concur with what others have mentioned. In my instance, they assert they’re from HSBC and that there’s a refund awaiting me. The truth is, I’ve never held an account with them, and neither has my spouse! They even probed whether I’ve ever had a mortgage or a loan, which leads me to think that’s their true agenda. It feels like they’re just trying to sell you some sort of mortgage or loan, regardless of the details. The reality is, they’re being deceptive; they have no affiliation with HSBC whatsoever. Stay vigilant and just ignore their calls.

It seems to me that this so-called 'bank refund' is nothing more than a farcical ruse. Usually, it's HSBC they mention, yet my spouse received a call where they claimed to be from Santander. I have a sneaky suspicion they just pull a bank name out of a hat, considering neither of us hold accounts with either HSBC or Santander.
