For a few weeks now, I keep getting calls from this same number at all sorts of times. It's really getting on my nerves having to rush over to answer, just to find it’s them again. I've tried blocking it but nothing seems to work.

Same experience here. They called pretending to be from HSBC saying I had some money waiting to be refunded.

But neither me nor my partner has ever opened an account with them! They also asked if I had taken out any mortgage or loans, which really seemed like their real angle - probably trying to push some financial product on me.

It's all a scam, they're definitely not with HSBC. Just don’t pick up or answer them, best to just block the number.

They said they were ringing about a refund from a bank, usually HSBC, but my partner got a call saying it was Santander this time. I reckon they just pick a bank name out of thin air, because neither of us actually have accounts with HSBC or Santander. Feels like just another dodgy PPI claims outfit who aren’t bothered about your actual claim, just looking to grab your cash.
