Received a rather dodgy call seeking personal details. The individual claimed I was owed refunds from Barclays for the years 2004, 2005, and 2006. I promptly informed him that I've never had a Barclays account and mentioned that my number's on the do-not-call register. He persisted with five calls in total, which eventually pushed me to my limit - I lost my cool and resorted to some choice words, even warning him off. If he dares to ring again, I’m prepared to inform him that I’ll be recording our conversation for the police. It’s crucial not to share any details with these deceitful individuals. They’ll throw around various bank names until you inadvertently mention something. Make sure to demand they provide precise information and ask them to send it through the post. I’ve got a password protocol set up with my bank, which they must provide if they reach out to me. I know from experience it doesn’t take long before they attempt to gather bits of that password by continually pestering you for different letters. Stay alert; these con artists can be relentless and downright unpleasant.

I received a similar call earlier today. The caller had some bits of information correct, such as my address, but he completely missed my name and didn’t seem to grasp that we've never taken out a loan. I engaged him just long enough to verify it was a scam through a quick search online. He was rather tenacious, not too clear in his speech, and appeared to struggle with following my replies. I warned him that if he rang me again, I’d be reporting him to the police. He claimed they'd keep calling each day until the refund was processed (?!). I ended the call there. He subsequently tried to reach me again, but I decided to ignore it. I'm planning to report the number to trading standards. I urge everyone else to do the same!

I've been receiving around 10 calls from these individuals in the past two days. Whenever I answer, there's complete silence on the other end. After a while, an individual with an Indian accent starts chuckling and asks for "Mr *******" using my first name instead of my surname. I tried reporting it to TPS (Telephone Preference Service), but they refuse to take action if the caller doesn't provide a company name, and they only deal with calls from traders, not scams. Moreover, TPS won't act against recorded message calls either. Scam reports should be made to the police, but it's difficult to prove that it's actually a scam. So, in summary, these calls seem impossible to stop! Do you think writing to your Member of Parliament (MP) could be helpful?

Isn't it ironic that while I'm reading this post, there's an advert about claiming PPI at the bottom of the website, urging people to provide their information? Quite ironic, isn't it?

I’ve come across this so-called "business" employing a range of different phone numbers in a bid to swindle unsuspecting individuals out of their personal details. They're particularly targeting the more elderly folks who might not be as savvy about online and telephone scams. I've received a handful of calls over the last couple of days. They even rang an elderly family member, attempting to extract her banking information under the guise of “halting nuisance calls.” Nowadays, I simply let the answering machine take over. They invariably disconnect as soon as it kicks in - the callers seem to be of Asian, Indian, or Pakistani descent.

I had an odd phone call earlier today from an Asian gentleman whose accent was rather hard to grasp. He addressed me by name and claimed he was attempting to process a refund for a loan I'd supposedly taken out. I promptly informed him that I had never had any such loan, but he insisted I must be confused, referencing a loan from between the years 2000 and 2008. After reiterating that his details were completely inaccurate, I requested he refrain from contacting me further and hung up the phone. The caller went by the name William, and the number was 08436849987.

I received yet another call from this number today-hard to believe it was my tenth! This time, an individual claiming to represent a PPI refund scheme got in touch, but I didn't believe a word of it. The caller was from an Asian background, and I found it quite challenging to discern what he was saying. I requested that he remove my name from his list, and to my utter disbelief, he responded by saying it would set me back £50, payable immediately! Naturally, I declined and made it clear that I wanted no further contact. To my astonishment, he insisted on keeping me on the line, claiming that he was now charging me for the call, with six minutes supposedly racking up a whopping £90 on my phone bill. His attitude became increasingly aggressive, threatening that they would sue me for ‘wasting their time’ and demanded £200 to take my name off their list! He ominously warned that I could expect daily calls with each one incurring further charges. It's alarming to think how many people may have fallen for this intimidation tactics, bullied into handing over £50 out of fear of exorbitant phone bills. I'll certainly be blocking this number and won't be paying a penny!

I had a rather perplexing conversation with an Asian lady, and I found it quite challenging to grasp what she was saying when I inquired about her employer. After I asked her three times, she abruptly ended the call. On the upside, they did give me a number to put on my block list! - caller: Anonymous

I've been receiving repeated calls from a person who claims to be Michael from road traffic control. They state that my family was involved in a car accident and that they require money for shipping the bodies back home. However, I quickly realized that this person was a fraud and not actually named Michael. I assured them that my family is alive and well, and warned them that if they called again, I would involve the police. It's important to be cautious in such situations. It's worth noting that I may have used a few words of frustration there, as I am not pleased with the caller. On a lighter note, neither I nor most of my family own a car, so the joke's on them!

I received four phone calls within an hour from a woman of Asian descent, who insists on speaking to me but refuses to disclose her identity. I must say, it’s incredibly frustrating to be plagued by such interruptions, particularly since I’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service and have even blocked my number.

I constantly receive bothersome phone calls for someone who does not reside at this place. These calls occur multiple times throughout the day, and despite expressing my disinterest, the caller persistently continues to contact me. I have informed them that I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), hoping it would have an impact, but unfortunately, it hasn't deterred them. Additionally, they refuse to disclose which company they represent when asked.

There's this Asian chap who's been ringing me daily, insisting he needs to have a word with my nan about some money she's supposedly owed. It's quite unsettling, to be honest. Every time I pick up, he just hangs up on me, completely ignoring my questions. It's all extremely concerning; he seems solely interested in my grandmother. Can anyone intervene in this situation?

I received a total of four calls in one day from a particular number, where the callers identified themselves with English names but had Asian accents. They claimed to be offering PPI refunds. When I asked them where they got my information, one of the operators rudely told me to "go to hell." Frankly, I felt that it should have been me saying that, not them!

We constantly receive PPI calls, and to our great dismay, my wife has been diagnosed with cancer. This is the least of our concerns right now, and I have repeatedly requested them to remove us from their calling list.

I received a call from an Asian gentleman who was looking for Mr. Clark, which is not my name although I've had the same number for almost 16 years. He said he wanted to offer me a PPI refund. I informed him that my number was registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) and explained that by calling me, he had violated telecommunications regulations. I warned him that he could potentially face a significant fine. To my surprise, he suddenly claimed to be an FBI agent and accused me of making nuisance calls while being monitored. I couldn't help but laugh at his ridiculous remark. Angered by my reaction, he uttered some offensive words and promptly ended the call.

I am incredibly annoyed because someone called me, remained silent, and then hung up. If I could confront the individual responsible for this action, I would express my frustration. To make matters worse, in my haste to answer the phone, I unfortunately fell off a step ladder.

An Asian gentleman rang, inquiring about a Mr. Clark, which is rather amusing as I've had this number for almost 16 years! He was touting some PPI reimbursement nonsense. When I informed him that my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service and that he was in breach of telecommunications laws by calling me, he suddenly proclaimed himself to be an FBI operative, claiming I was under surveillance for making bothersome calls! I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity, but he wasn't amused; he swore at me before abruptly disconnecting the call.

I received a call from an Asian gentleman who claimed to have £600 for me regarding a PPI loan from back in either 2004 or 2008, which certainly piqued my suspicion as I know that’s not accurate. When I pressed him for the name of the bank involved, he listed a bunch of them but as soon as I requested the exact one, he hung up without a word! I’ve now blocked the number, as it felt very dodgy indeed.

I had a frustrating experience with an Asian man regarding a PPI loan that I've never taken out. He rudely hung up on me during our conversation.

A man of Asian heritage called me by name and claimed to have £600 that belonged to me from a PPI loan that I supposedly had in either 2004 or 2008 (which is untrue). When I inquired about the bank associated with this transaction, he mentioned several banks in quick succession. However, when I asked him to specify the particular bank, he abruptly ended the call. As a result of this suspicious encounter, I have now blocked the caller's number.

We moved into our house 16 months ago, and we receive calls every day from this number. The caller is constantly asking for someone who doesn't reside here nor that we are acquainted with. We have painstakingly explained on numerous occasions that we do not know this individual, but the calls persist. Frustrated, I requested to speak with a manager, but the caller abruptly ended the call.
